Bavass Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Is line conditioner worth it or is it just Snake Oil? Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted April 15, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 15, 2014 Its not snake oil, some are better than others but none better than the KVD. Imho Ask around, someone you know may use it, if so ask for a couple squirts...Im sure you'll agree. Mike Quote
Fishing_Cory Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I use the Ardent brand when I spool my Fluorocarbon on, helps for taking memory out of the line when it is brand new. Other than that I don't really use it, I'll spray my spools occasionally if I haven't used them in a while. I've found that if I spray a spool of line it gets really oily and it doesn't feel the same when casting. It has also dyed my line if fishing in stained water. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted April 15, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 15, 2014 The Ardent Line Butter is the reason I use KVD L&L now. After 1 use I tossed it. Mike 1 Quote

I didn't need anymore KVD since I still have about a half a bottle left. WAIT, did I say a half a bottle? As in ONLY a half of one single bottle? I can't have that, so I bought a backup bottle. $10 for a bottle of liquid magic seems like a steal to me. I swear I think this stuff would grow hair if I rubbed it on my bald head. If you have hair, use it as shampoo, it will strengthen your roots and repair split ends. Rub it on bruises and the pain goes away. Open wounds heal before your very eyes. Use it as eye drops for the blind and it restores sight. Use it in already seeing eyes and it gives you X-Ray vision. Works well as an energy drink also, with an added bonus of being able to fish like KVD for about 30 minutes, so save it for those last few casts in important tournaments. Dip your lead sinkers in it and it turns them to gold. Wash your car in it and it repairs dents and dings on contact. Put some in the fuel as an additive to improve gas mileage. Add it to contaminated water to purify for drinking. Seriously, jokes aside, KVD line treatment is the real deal. At this point they could rename it as Snake Oil and bottle it in rattlesnake skins and I'd still buy it. 2 Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 15, 2014 Super User Posted April 15, 2014 The KVD L and L is worth every penny. Quote
Chief 2 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Just picked up 2 bottles yesterday. When is it best to use it? Thanks! Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted April 16, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 16, 2014 When you spool on new line....I soak an old nylon sock and run the line through it as it goes on. Spray on the spool the night before. Sometimes during the day I'll give a squirt or 2, but it work's better once it dries. Mike Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 17, 2014 Super User Posted April 17, 2014 I saw Vicious now makes it and it looks like it's in the same bottle as the L&L. Has anyone tried it? I know if it's not broken don't fix it but... Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 17, 2014 Super User Posted April 17, 2014 Just picked up 2 bottles yesterday. When is it best to use it? Thanks! Just spray the spool liberally the night before you want to fish. I normally repeat this monthly or when I apply new line. Quote
JigMe Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Do you guys use KVD line conditioner on braided line, or it is a waste? Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 17, 2014 Super User Posted April 17, 2014 Let me show you how well L&L truly works. Over the winter I started flipping a hookless rattletrap at the dog just to pass the time and wait for the ice to melt. The reel I was using was a Core50. Obviously I needed that reel back as soon as we got ice off so I Dug out an old reel I hadn't used in years so I could keep playing with the dog I pulled the line out and it looked like this I sprayed the spool with L&L and came back a few hours later. I gave the line one pull and the coils disappeared like magic!!! Pretty cool stuff don't ya think? 2 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 17, 2014 Super User Posted April 17, 2014 Do you guys use KVD line conditioner on braided line, or it is a waste? I use it on new braid but once it gets broke in I don't use it. 1 Quote

craww Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Do you guys use KVD line conditioner on braided line, or it is a waste? I dont know about it helping performance, but it really helps keep the color from fading. Quote
Traveler2586 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 So just exactly what does it do, and is it good on all line types? Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 17, 2014 Super User Posted April 17, 2014 It makes the line limp. Quote
Traveler2586 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 It makes the line limp. Interesting,,,, If it affects the molecular structure of line to cause it to go limp, does it also affect stretch? Quote
