7mm-08 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Haven't used them much yet but the magic shad have great action and a good rep. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 My new favorite line of plastics... Hyper Freak=awesome Craw Tube=awesome Live Magic Shad=da bomb!! Quote
Vinny Chase Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 They used to be my secret bait :-/ I love throwing them wacky under docks...killer bait Good thing my other secret pitching bait by LF is still somewhat unknown Quote
WanderLust Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I just got my order of Magic Shads. Can't wait to use them... As soon as they stop bouncing off the lake. > Ring Fry and Hyper are on the list as well. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Ring fry is an awesome c-rig bait. Also love them t-rigged weightless Quote
hookingem Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Just bought a pack of the superfreaks tonight can't wait to put them to use. LF makes some baits with awesome actions caught my PB on a Live magic shad. Quote
MNGeorge Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Magic Shad and the crawtube have both brought many river Smallies to the boat. We mostly fish the ring fry wacky style...if you use the o-ring, they last much longer. Quote
rowyourboat Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 if you are using them wacky, why this instead of a senko? i guess what im tryin to say is are there certain times/conditions that you use these and not senkos??? Quote
Quillback Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I just picked up a pack of the tube-craws, I'll be trying them out this week at a heavily pressured warm-water discharge lake. I like the way they look (and smell), but what will Mr. Bass say? Quote

Slower fall rate and larger profile, the rings also displace water and create a bubble trail making them easier for the fish to find. IMHO LFT has a great line of plastics, with very few "duds" in their lineup! 1 Quote
Shad_Master Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Ring fries are the goto bait in this area - you can T-rig, C-rig or even fish 'em weightless (they will case that way) - another trick is to stick a nail weight in their butt while fising them "weightless" - this gives 'em another presentation. You can also drop-shot 'em or use 'em on a shakey head. Awsome lures. Quote

MNGeorge Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Don't overlook the baby ringfry...sometimes it works better than the 4" version, even wacky rigged. Quote
endless Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 The magic shads are great, even greater on a chatterbait. Quote
Nibbles Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I've been using their pig claws for the past year. Very nice subtle trailer that adds a good amount of bulk. Not a lot of action, but you can give it action by yo-yo-ing your jig like a rat-l-trap (only you do it a lot gentler, and yo-yo it so that it bobs up only a few inches and then falls a few inches, etc.). I've had several bass swim up to my jig and inhale it a couple of feet from shore while staring me in the face by doing that. Quote

Better buy them up because my understanding is that they're being discontinued. Overstock had a bunch on their site a few months ago. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 1, 2011 Super User Posted March 1, 2011 Whenever I splitshot a light, finesse presentation, I use the 4" Ringfry. Have had some big takes on this set-up. Quote
WanderLust Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Whenever I splitshot a light, finesse presentation, I use the 4" Ringfry. Have had some big takes on this set-up. I had good luck with a splitshot rig as well. *OFF TOPIC* Do you use a barrel swivel to stop line twist?? Quote
River Rat316 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Use a mojo style sinker and there is way less twist, plus no hangups Quote
bassin is addicting Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 live magic shads very versatile. weightless like a fluke...with better action weighted swimbait hook rigged on a sworming hornet...(thanks RW) or on a chatterbait i've even put a split shot on about 18" in front for a little faster fall the action is one of the best.. imo Quote
GrizzerGreen Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 According to the back of the bag, the ring fry should be rigged wither shakey head or texas rigged weightless. I just got a bad and Im waiting until the ice melts to use em. Im looking forward to see what they can pull up. Quote
