Hey i just got into bass fishing about a year ago n only really catch what u guys would call dinks. to me any fish is a good fish. This weekend some how this guy ended up eating my spinnerbait. definitely the biggest I have ever caught. Does anyone have a rough guess of weight. I guessed 3lbs but my friend who is also new to bass said five. Since this is my pb so far I'd like to have an idea of weight. Thanks for ur help!!

Get some scales or a soft tape measure and you won't have to guess or have a bunch of people look at a pic and guess.

2 and a half to 3 is my guess.  No way it is a 5.  Definitely buy a scale!

I agree with the other guys-2.5 ish. The way your left hand wraps completely around its belly shows that it is not a 5er. Nice fish though, and congrats on the PB!

I would say high 2s low 3s... Back when I lived in NJ my PB was just under 5

2-2.5 would be my guess.

Good job getting on fish. You'll easily break your PB I believe. Keep it up.

You can use your line to measure with; cut to length and cut a second piece for girth. Tie an overhand knot in the girth piece of line, put the pieces in your picket and measure them later.

Weight = length X length X girth divide by 1200 (average LMB the girth is about 75% of the length).

A scale is better.

length bass measured laying flat mouth closed, tip of lower jaw to center of tail = 16", girth = 12"

16 x 16 x 12 / 1200 = 2.56 lbs.

Looks like a healthy 1.5lb bass. No worries though, personal bests only go up in time and not down. Nice work.

haha!!! thank god. my guess 1-2 pounds. nice catch man welcome!

My guess is 2 lbs. nice catch.

this gal weighed 5. Just to give you an example of a 5 lb'er. If I had arms built like yours I would wear sleeveless shirt as well.
