I bought a reel from a nice Japanese gentleman a while back, and he had thrown a bonus lure into the reel box (what a great guy, huh?).

From what I can see, it's a black and gold Megabass Ito Vision 110 jerkbait, and a straight-eye one at that. Problem is, I don't know what kind of trebles I should put on it to make it suspend! Furthermore, it's a saltwater version, so I'm wondering if the regular stock freshwater Vision 110 hooks will even work on it since the same weight will not suspend in both fresh and saltwater (things are typically more buoyant in salt water).

On the bottom of the bait, written in gold marker, is the following:

2002

Saltwater Limited

I.T.O Vision 110 (SW)

I've attached a picture of the lure laying on its side.

I don't think sw hooks vs freshwater hooks will make any difference.  I use xraps both for fresh and saltwater, saltwater versions are the same except for the hooks.  At replacement time I use whatever I have on hand and both fresh and saltwater movements are no different than new out of the box.  Generally I will up the size 1 notch, still no difference in action.

Saltwater Ito 110 is slow float on saltwater but suspend in fresh water.  The replacement hook is Owner ST 36  #6.

If you want it to suspend in Saltwater use Owner ST41 2X #6.

You can also adjust the sink rate by using ST41 2X #4.  Drop it on a small aquarium to check the sink or float rate.

Which size split ring would you recommend?

I'm not sure what the size is but I usually just buy that multiple size in a pack from walmart and use the smallest one in the package.  But for the nose split ring I get those oblong split ring like the ones in LuckyCraft LC FM110.   Sorry can't give you the exact size.
