I'd be looking to get hooked up with one of the Watershed ressies. You'll need a permit. I think the DEP issues them.

Do you go out there by any chance??

I still haven't gotten on the board yet. im losing faith in my abilities lol

We put an end to that today, now didn't we? LOL

Ben came down and fished all day with me on Silver, and by all day I mean ALL FREAKING DAY!! LOL.We were on the water by 6:30am, and fished till 6:30pm. Now, you may ask, why would these two fools fish for 12 hours..........well because it was pretty decent. We did things a little different today than our trip last year, and photo's were forbidden due to the "secret locations" I was showing off, but by the end of the day, I would say roughly between us, 50+ largemouth were boated on numerous baits. Only one pike and  one smallmouth visited us, but the largemouth  were plenty willing. No super hogs but each of us boated a couple mid to upper 4lb fish, and small keepers up to 2.5 were abudant, and we probably each caught 2 limits worth of 3-4lb range fish. Frogs, wacky-rigs, swim-jigs, and flipping craws/creature baits were the best producing baits today. With a couple more cranking. Suspending jerkbaits, and wobble head jigs hauled water. Which was a bummer, but oh well, we still caught them plenty of other ways.

Fishing in Lake Erie is really turning on with the ice being gone and temps going up. Went out by myself and caught 20 fish on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Best was 4.5lbs and lost what I think had to be at least 5.5 right at the boat.

I can't believe how fast things are happening this year. Water temps around 70 already. Did pretty good over the weekend though.

My dad and I were out there on Sunday as well.   I thought our fishing was rather slow.   When we ran across small pods of fish you couldn't catch them fast enough, but ended as fast as it started each time.   Proves to me we just weren't on good fish, they were definitely hungry when we found a few.   Our best five went 4-9, 4-8, 4-6, 4-2 and a 4-0.   Sounds good for anywhere else, but for Erie that is rather dismal.  lol   None of them were even close to the 20" minimum length for right now.   Caught a couple decent ones (and a few walleye) off Woodlawn Bar but the rest came down between Myers and 18 Mile Cr.   We lost quite a few also, no excuses there.   I have not been to Erie during the spring in several years, but 10-15 years ago I darn near lived on that lake during May.

I'll be out again Friday, and then unfortunately will be out of town for work the following 10 days. The fish should be starting to pile up in shallower water soon. Fish further North up the lake if you get out again.

***If you throw a dropshot at all, very short leader, maybe 6 inches off of the bottom, and I was only using 6# FC.

^^^ man i couldnt buy a fish on the dropshot on keuka rhe other day...they were like " nice try rookie" lol

I had to do a little improv on mine though, couldn't get them to bite any of the usual suspects, so I threw a tube on the drop shot setup with a big hook and kept it just above the bottom.

Yeah, the second and third week of May is traditionally prime for numbers and size.   We could only scrounge up one fish between the tube and dropshot, all our fish came on spoons and bladebaits.

There was one guy out in a kayak just trolling with flicker shads that was doing really well. Deep divers down to 22 ft. You can probably do well dragging a tube jig as well over structure.
