Super User ww2farmer Posted April 12, 2015 Super User Posted April 12, 2015 Went out today for a little while. Not even a nibble... ill try again tomorrow tomorrow will be my first day out. I will probably hit it in the afternoon when it warms up a bit. You'll have to come down again in a couple weeks when it's "ON" here. Quote

Let us all know how you do tomorrow. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 12, 2015 Super User Posted April 12, 2015 We went out for smelt this evening at art park still early water was COLD and I discovered I have a hole in my waders Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted April 12, 2015 Super User Posted April 12, 2015 Lake was NOT ice free, keeping me pinned to the southern 1/3 of a 3 mile long lake. Well the boat ran good, but in the 2 hours I spent fishing 36 degree water no fish were harmed by me. LOL Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 12, 2015 Super User Posted April 12, 2015 I got a skunking our east as well. Had my early spring issue and hissy fit on the water. With that out of the way, fishing can get underway. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 13, 2015 Super User Posted April 13, 2015 I'll be out tomorrow in johnsons creek just can't decide if I'm gonna go by the mouth of Lake Ontario for the mixed bag or above the dam in still water for bass. That or both the little lakes by me are ice free and giving up bass but I'm to lazy to paddle the distance to get to them. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 13, 2015 Super User Posted April 13, 2015 Took a nice selfie yesterday. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted April 13, 2015 Super User Posted April 13, 2015 Got my 1st NY Bass yesterday. Water was freezing. Lost another one at the boat. Great to be back in the water again! 2 Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted April 13, 2015 Super User Posted April 13, 2015 Had a small hit today but other then that nothing the river was like nestles chocolate milk Quote
joetomlee Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Had a small hit today but other then that nothing the river was like nestles chocolate milk Yeah, Southern Ontario lake is still very dirty. I tried yesterday and was dissapointed, no bites. Thinking about traveling over to Oneida today knowing that the water will be clearer and waters are much more shallow, I am hoping this might work better. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 13, 2015 Super User Posted April 13, 2015 I'm gonna go out tomorrow before work I think again might hit lake Alice try pounding some points Quote
rmcguirk Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Anyone know what keuka looks like or conesus? I took a drive to check out Conesus and Honeyoe yesterday. Honeyoe is wide open. Conesus was almost wide open, except for a scrim of slushy ice on the north shore to about 50 yards out. It looked like remainder ice that had blown north and got piled up there and was now melting. There were only a few boats out on Conesus (I checked the state boat launch). I saw a few more at Honeyoe. One guy said surface water temp was 37 when he launched in the morning and that it was about 45 when I saw him around 2:00. You can check the Conesus cam at the following website, something I do pretty regularly before I head down there to fish: http://conesuscam.com/ This view is looking south from the north shore, east of the restaurant. Just checked it and you can see the last remnants of the ice I mentioned. Should be all gone by tomorrow. Quote
EvanT123 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 No bass but it's a start. About 2 inches of visibility on the Mohawk and some strong current make for some tough fishing. 1 Quote
bclark7b Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 I went out yesterday again. No fish, but I did manage to fall in the water and break my phone. Its been a rough start. Quote
lou304 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 First trip out yesterday. Most of the lakes around here still have ice so my buddy and I hit the Hudson River. I picked up a nice 2 1/2 lb smallie in the first 15 minutes and we thought we'd have a good day. Never got anothe r fish all day! Water was 38-47 depending on where we were. lotta current. water was murkey but not muddy, except at trib mouths. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 I got on the board last night, with a limit of largemouth that ranged from 14" to 6lbs 2oz. Quote

EvanT123 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Rivers starting to heat up but the rain they are calling for all week should cool it down. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 20, 2015 Super User Posted April 20, 2015 I went out this evening for like half an hour after drill bit windy and chilly had something clobber a spinner bait hard but I missed the hook set. Seen some carp and a dead northern that was maybe 12". I was hoping to get out on the kayak tomorrow since the river has cleared up and went back to normal levels but it's calling for rain though the hourly forecast shows it tapering off and switching so sun about the time I get out of bed.
