Super User ww2farmer Posted October 31, 2014 Super User Posted October 31, 2014 Yesterday afternoon was a dud,one small pike to avoid getting totally skunked. I lost a big largemouth boat side.... But I don't want to be " that guy" lol. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 4, 2014 Super User Posted November 4, 2014 This weekend was a no-go. Snow, wind, rain, sometimes all at once...........I never even drove by the lake. Getting to be almost time to call it. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 There's still that chance of hitting the schooling smallies just right that keeps me going. Then it'll be occasional steelhead trips between reel servicing and rod builds. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 6, 2014 Super User Posted November 6, 2014 Rained out at work,so I went and got soaked and frozen on Silver. I said to myself that I would be happy with one pike, one largemouth, and one smallmouth. It took me four hours to accomplish this but I did,and left lol. I might be done for the year. Usually late October, early November is pretty good out there, but something's off this year and for two weeks... Well actually all year( but but September through mid October were decent)Silver has stunk, Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 6, 2014 Super User Posted November 6, 2014 I think I'm putting all the stuff away this weekend. I'll keep the kayak handy, just in case. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted November 7, 2014 Super User Posted November 7, 2014 Boats, Welds. I've got two that need to be winterized. Since I do all the work myself, I might as well get started. Forecast is for freezing temps and 6-8' waves. Looks like I'll be switching to steelhead soon. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 7, 2014 Super User Posted November 7, 2014 Looks like I'll be switching to steelhead soon. I am looking for something to do between putting the bass stuff away and safe ice, I have ZERO knowledge of the gear needed for this, I'm going to shoot you a pm about it. Quote

Absolutely. Might be easier to talk on the phone. You can't be too far from 18 mile creek/Burt dam. That's a good spot to cut your teeth. Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted April 8, 2015 Super User Posted April 8, 2015 Finally have some open water. A lot earlier than last year. I hope to get out soon. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Outside of the river, what else is open? This winter was brutal. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 8, 2015 Super User Posted April 8, 2015 Outside of the river, what else is open? This winter was brutal. around here the small lakes have thawed. This was as of last Saturday. Higher altitudes probably have a while to go. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 8, 2015 Super User Posted April 8, 2015 Both glennwood and alice are thawed here in Orleans county I've been out every Monday for te last three weeks. No fish yet but I seen a guy at the gas station Monday pulling his boat and heard him talking inside the store that he was headed to alice so I chatted with him he said glennwood was hot Sunday boated a couple 3# largemouth and to many smallies to count and keep track of. I've only caught one fish this year about a month ago and it was a steel head on my drop shot set up converted to drift set up for trout till the lakes open up. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 8, 2015 Super User Posted April 8, 2015 The dump looks thawed anough to get a yak in. Quote
