Scorchx1245 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Since no motor boats are aloud on honeyoye and canandaugua lake all weekend due to high waters, I will be taking full advantage of the canoe 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted May 26, 2014 Super User Posted May 26, 2014 I went to Conesus this afternoon from 1pm to about 5pm, with the intention of "looking" at smallmouth since we had clear skies and calm winds...perfect for bed fishing........FOILED..... Muddy water and green slime mess. Couldn't get much going for size, but caught numbers, 20 or so small keepers of both green and brown up to about 2.5 lbs, fishing shaky heads, drop shot, and flick shakes around docks. I got off the bank and docks several times during the day fishing, both the inside and outside grass lines, and or some steep drops looking for better size, but it just wasn't happening, so I went to back to the bank/docks, hoping to eventually run into some better fish....never happened. I was due for a poor outing on Conesus, my last 6-8 trips there have been barn burners.....I realize 20 keeper bass in 4 hours is not "poor".............but I have high standards LOL. 1 Quote
bclark7b Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 I went out for 2 hrs today with my little brother on the canal. Caught a bunch of small small mouth and rock bass. Then had a 3' pike absolutely destroy my chatterbait. I ended us killing the poor thing on accident because It took me too long to get the bait out of its mouth. of course the day I leave my pliers in the car I catch a pike. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted May 26, 2014 Super User Posted May 26, 2014 Got out with my 5 year old today did some sight fishing got these two smallies on a itty bity no name rubber craw. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted May 27, 2014 Super User Posted May 27, 2014 Fished in the ADKs over the weekend. Weather was miserable. Thunderstorms and torrential rain all weekend. We still managed to find some fish though. In 10-12 hours of fishing we boated around 25 keeper-sized bass, the biggest being around 3 pounds. Lost a few that looked bigger. Not bad at all considering the horrible weather. Quote
bclark7b Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Since that thunderstorm just missed my area today I decided to go out for a few hours, and boy was it rough. Only 7 small fish probably only 1-2 pounds... Quote
BuffaloBass716 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 On the bank of the Upper Niagara this morning, quiet a few smallies all average size and a surprise largemouth in the river. First largemouth in the river this year, but I've been nailing them in the canal off the main river. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted May 29, 2014 Super User Posted May 29, 2014 I fished for 2 or so hours each of the last two nights, one pre-cold front in 80 degree air temps, one post cold front in 50 degree temps with a stiff north wind.........guess which one was better LOL........last night. A dozen keepers in 2.5 hours, with one over four lbs, half a dozen over three lbs, and the rest all solid 2.5's or so.............Tonight, also out for 2.5 hours or so, numbers went down...only caught 4, but all of them were over 4lbs. Lake Alice wasn't bad this morning and that's about 30-45 minutes from you. Bass are sitting on beds I picked off a few then had a PB northern on got it all the way in after he made a few runs stripping drag off my reel like nothing. Got it to the bank and went to get him and he flopped under a log back into the water made another run and broke my line with my last spinnerbait. Quote
Scorchx1245 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Went out today and had good luck frog fishing and pitching a creature bait, also a wacky rigged senko on weedless style hook. got these guys over the past couple days. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted May 31, 2014 Super User Posted May 31, 2014 Just got back from 1.5 hours of bank fishing. I caught 2 good ones, but between snags and pike bite-offs, I lost about 75$ worth of jigs, shakeyheads, tungsten bullets and jerkbaits. Not to mention it was windy as all hell. My patience was tested today. Quote
