bclark7b Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Ive been out both yesterday and today. Yesterday at a local reservoir and today at the canal's wide waters. No luck either place although there were a bunch of guys out today. Wondering if anyone has caught anything yet? Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted April 13, 2014 Super User Posted April 13, 2014 Fired my outboard up today and it didn't explode or catch on fire.................that's always a win. As for fishing...soon...very soon. 5 Quote
bclark7b Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 That's definitely a plus. I got to my spot the other day and there was still slush in the backs of the pockets, but I didn't care I couldn't wait any longer.... i paddled around for a few hours with no luck haha. Quote
rmcguirk Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I was out in my kayak on Honeoye Friday, Saturday, and again today. Bass have certainly woken up and are prowling the shallows. Best baits Friday were soft plastics worked slowly on the bottom. By today, it was a lipless crank bait. Caught 20 today, 15 of them on lipless crank baits. 1 Quote
EvanT123 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I've caught a few at a local lake. The river not so much Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 14, 2014 Super User Posted April 14, 2014 Been out a couple times for about an hour and a half each time. Nothing yet, but I've had a few hits which was encouraging. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted April 14, 2014 Super User Posted April 14, 2014 No sir. Had 1 hit in 2x out. Will b better really soon Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted April 14, 2014 Super User Posted April 14, 2014 High of 80 today!! But then a front rolls in for the rest of the week. Highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. I have completely forgotten what it's like to reel in a fish. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted April 20, 2014 Super User Posted April 20, 2014 Caught 4 this week in three trips out. Hoping to go out today. You get out on the water yet? Yeah I have been out three times now. Thursday and Friday afternoon after work, and I snuck out for a few hours mid day today in between family easter festivities. I have caught fish every time out, but it's been slow. Thursday night I caught a couple 2.5lb largemouth, and a small walleye. Friday night another small walleye, a decent pike and a 4lb largemouth, and today a pair of 2lb largemouth, a really nice 4+ lb smallmouth, and a small pike. Bites are just few and far between yet, with everything I have caught so far on lipless cranks or suspending jerk baits. Quote
bclark7b Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 Sounds like some fun. I need to gain confidence with a jerkbait. It has been very slow for me too. Just slowly jigging. Hoping to get out a bunch more this week. Things should start heating up soon I'm hoping! 1 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 After a slow start Sunday, a friend and I found a cove on Saratoga with some off color water and 1.5 degree warmer (49 vs 47.5) water. Caught over 80 fish between us on jerkbaits with a long pause. About 10 of them were piks and one jack perch. A lot of 1.5 pounders and then got into a bunch of 2.5 and some 3's. Quote
