Super User roadwarrior Posted February 25, 2011 Author Super User Posted February 25, 2011 RW, how much of your success with this lure do you attribute to the color? Are they worth considering in other colors? I honestly don't know. I only have one and I like green, so that's how I ended up with this particular lure. ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 25, 2011 Super User Posted February 25, 2011 Besides, Tonosama Frog pattern is simply beautiful, so is CMF ( Cracked Matte Frog ). Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 River2Sea makes a decent knock off for $8, called the Bubble Pop. I have two, they are superb poppers. Never pulled the trigger on the Megabass version. Quote
Stringjam Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The best expensive lure I ever bought was a Charlie-O Find one in really nice shape and they go for over $40 a pop. I bought this one for $25 and have caught the SNOT out of bass on it. Very unique action. If you like your fat cranks to act more like a lipless crank, this is the one. Quote
jignfule Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Consider this: You probably won't lose a topwaterlure. So, even at $28, you will have this lure for a very long time. I don't remember exactly when I bought mine, but it was at least 5 years ago. 8-) Ya that's the way I justify sacrificing my wallet to the bait monkey. It turns out to be like .015 cents a day ;D ;D ;D Quote
Maico1 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 You're right, I hadn't considered "toothy critters". This fish was was caught on a discontinued JDM crankbait, on 8# CXX, using an Avid AVC70MM. To think I was lucky to get it back is a HUGE understatement. Now John that is a nice looking Mr.Tooth..... Super User CWB Posted February 27, 2011 Super User Posted February 27, 2011 I'll take 3 Zell Pops instead. R2S looks like the same mouth design. http://www.***.com/River2Sea_Bubble_Popper/descpage-RSBP.html#multiview Scored the same on Tackle Tour: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewriver2seabupop.html Have lost too many to Pike and Muskies to spend that much. :-[ Quote

Super User CWB Posted February 27, 2011 Super User Posted February 27, 2011 Everyone has their own favorites. If a $30.00 lure works for you and you have confidence in it, that's what should matter to you. I've never used one and probably never will. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. (especially at 3 times the price) Quote
