I have today and tomorrow to move from my apartment to my new apartment. I enlisted family and friends to help me move my stuff. Woke up this am and popped a focus pill. Then had to wait til 11 to get the apartment keys. Which ended up dragging out until 130. Well my wonderful work force all bailed on me for today. Leaving myself and my almost 7 month pregnant wife to move our belongings tonight. I have my cousin and eldest brother in law coming to help tomorrow. Which is pretty much it.

Had I known this I would have asked for more time to move. I'm about ready to kill someone. My medicine has me completely sprung, plus my work out stuff has my body raging.

I should have just asked my brother electricians to help me a few weeks ago. At least they would come through for me.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

cool story bro, we feel bad

Everyone likes a little ass. No one likes a smart ass.

Don't poke the bear. Ya might get the stick wrapped around your head.

If your gonna try an be cute at least be original about it. Don't just waltz up in my thread and use some played out phrase. A little creativity goes a long way. Don't like my post? Don't read it. I could honestly care less. Now go be useful and come up with something original.

I never had a problem moving as I would hire a professional mover, even going back to my younger days when I didn't have 2 nickles to rub together.  "Friends" don't always show up on time for a variety of reasons or excuses.  Using one of my trucks takes it out of the work force for that period of time, wasn't worth the loss in revenue.  Renting a truck incurs it's own expense plus labor is involved.  The labor can be a simple as few friends but you can't expect them to do it for free, just buying breakfeast or lunch and few beers doesn't put you all that far away from what a professional mover would charge.  There is an issue of injury, I'd feel bad if one of my friends got hurt and I'd feel worse if I did, that may be time off my real line of work.  I'm not concerned about a moving company's employee being hurt, that's what they get paid for and since they do it every they know how do it and probably don't get injured near as often.  Sometimes we can be penny wise and dollar foolish.

I move all our belongings with the help of one friend with just my truck and a flatbed in a day, you can do it.

Bummer. Sorry to read about your situation.

Let us know how the move went and the name of your newest addition to your family.

Be safe and remember what I read one time which I believe to be true:  You can only do what you can do and what you can do is enough.

So take your time and use that cell phone to keep calling for help.

Ughhhh. I have one box left to move. The bottom ripped out of it. Also 2 bags of trash to throw out. We worked from 10AM to 12AM on Saturday. Then from 10AM until 10PM tonight. Tomorrow morning I will go remove the 2 trash bags and the box. I will also clean the vanities in the two bathrooms and vacuum the carpets. I don't care if the apartment people will do it again after I do. I was always taught(sp) to leave a place as nice or nicer than you found it. I view it as a common courtesy as well as the right thing to do. The apartment was clean when it was given to me. So it will be clean when its given back to them. Even if the property manager is a "Richard". His staff is beyond friendly and helpful. My arms, legs, and back are killing me. However its three hours from being finished. :) :) :)

Its like a party. You invite 100 people so that if 10% show up you got 20 extra hands. Also do you ever help your buddies out? I keep a few favors stored up.for situations like this. I had to help a buddy move all his families stuff one day. It took us from 7 am to about 1130 pm. It sucks. Better luck next time pal. Chin up.
