ToledoMard928 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 125 bass so far this year.....10.1 being the biggest with a couple of 5's thrown in. Quote
Just Fish Michael Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Weather has only permitted me to get out three times so far this season. Two catches with the largest during lunch break last week 1.70 lbs. Here in Illinois... 70 degrees last weekend. Yesterday, the temps dropped to 25 degrees and 1+ inch of snow (Yes it's mid april) Now rain coming in the next few days. This weather sucks. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 16, 2014 Super User Posted April 16, 2014 I don't keep a running total of numbers but I would guess around 250-350 for this year biggest just at 9 lbs. These were all from FL & Mexico. No brown bass yet but will probably try on Easter Sunday. 1 Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 0 Bass and 2 Nice Catfish from Lake Erie. 1 cat was about 8lbs and the other 10-11lbs. Small for Lake Erie standards but big in my book. Quote
starcraft1 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Don't really count, but I'd say in the 400's, Reminder, Calif. + Lake Oroville spots = a bunch of bass each trip! Now that it's spring and low 80's air temps the bite is getting much better. Get ready for 100+ fish days for the next couple months. Quote
MossBack Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I would say over 150 for myself, and so far this year is starting out great, I have beat my previous PB of 5.5lbs four times already with a 6, 6.25, 6.5, and 7.25lber. Quote
CYP Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Yesterday was really the first day I was able to get out and less than two hours at that. First real trip of the year, two small bass which is fine, Ill take it. All new gear and caught them on spinnerbaits. Quote
WolfyBrandon Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Yes! first fish of 2014! April 18, 2014 (~5:45pm) - 13'' 1lb 05oz Smallmouth WolfyBrandon Quote
Smallie Seeker Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 #17 3.16lbs my biggest of the year so far. Quote

hoosierbass07 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Caught my third bass of the year bank fishing at a city park/pond. Cast in a Berkley four inch black power worm on six pound mono and reeled in a nice (maybe a pound) bass. I do love bass fishing and even though I have a canoe and kayak I love bank fishing and soft plastics! And I'm becoming a big big fan of the split rig. In fact, all the bass I've caught this year (three) have been on the split rig and six pound mono line. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 20, 2014 Super User Posted April 20, 2014 Been tougher so far this year. Have been out three times and have caught 15, my biggest only about 2 pounds. First trip was the best with 6, it's gotten worse each time as the water has got warmer which is STRANGE. I think the past two times it was just the erratic weather. Quote

bmac31 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 CT here. Went out bank fishing a couple time and have got a total of 6 pickerel. Not exactly bass but I'll take it. Just starting to warm up for the bass here in southern Connecticut, can't wait to get into them. Quote
Super User Teal Posted April 20, 2014 Super User Posted April 20, 2014 Probably around 200ish. Biggest being 6.62 went all the way through March with out a fish over 4lbs. Caught several in the low 5s in the past two weeks. Proudest accomplishment is having a new 16 year old fishing partner that has caught over 100 bass this year with me and has a PB of 7.13 lbs in his second season of fishing. He caught the fish by skipping a 1/4 homemade jig of mine under a thick bush into the back corner of a laydown. When I seen the lure placement, I actually clapped and said, " that's how its done !, you catch a fish there" .... And he did... If I don't catch another fish this year, I am happy and content with knowing that I've taught a young man this sport and that he's learning something that will give him a life of joy. 5 Quote

missouribigbass Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I don't keep track but Is guess in the 300 range. Better than my own catch was my ten year old catching his personal best this weekend. The one in the pic Quote
MichaelJ7 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I have caught 54 so far in southeast Missouri. Number would be higher but I just sold my bass boat last week and I'm waiting on my new ranger to be delivered!!! Quote
Super User Teal Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 Add 16 to the list yesterday! Had a huge gar break one of my favorite Bagley B squarebills yesterday. I once a couple years ago got outta my boat and waded to a stump to get in unhung. Caught 7 fish on it yesterday before its demise Quote
ColdSVT Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Add three to my total yesterday...then the wind and hail came lol Quote
