What gear ratio do you guys like to use for spinnerbaits? Lets say 3/8-1/2oz. Lookin to buy a new reel for a spinnerbait combo and just wanted you all's opinions.

I fish my spinnerbaits mostly with a bc set up..However, I do use my spinning rig sometimes. Where I fish, slowrolling is what gets the fish most of the time, so my Chronarch 5:2 to 1 works real well, when I switch to a faster gear ratio, i.e. a 6:2 to 1 I have to really watch my retrieve, as I get going to fast sometimes..lol a 6:1 or faster is great for burning spinnerbaits though.

I have a 5.2:1 BC reel on my "heavy" spinnerbait rod (say 1/2oz to over 1oz baits). I use a 6.4:1 BC reel for 1/4-1/2oz baits, but also sometimes use a spinning rod for those. For 1/8 and 3/16 SBs, I use spinning or a 6.3:1 BC reel on an ML BC rod.

I'm with hammer on this. Sorta feel more in control with a lower gear ratio. I use the same setup for spinnerbaits, shallow cranks and traps. Curado E5 on a lami 704

I agree 100%. 5.4 to 1. Large double willow baits just wear me out on a higher ratio.

I generally prefer a higher ratio for  spinnerbaits, so I use a 200e7 on my SB setup. Generally, most of my slow rolling is done on spinning gear. More specifically, a Pflueger Supreme XT (9235) @ 6.2:1

It actually has a higher IPT rate than the e7, but I find it easier to go slow with spinning gear, and I feel like I have better control over the lure at slow speeds with the Supreme. It may be all in my head, though.  ;D

I burn spinners with a Curado E7... But mostly use a Revo Winch (5.4:1)

This is a weak spot in my game though. Hope to improve this year. Been watching film and reading to get better at it.

Depends on how fast I want to reel them in.

I mostly slow roll my spinnerbaits, yet I prefer a fast reel. I have no problem slowing down my hand and sometime I need to reel fast. It's nice too a have a reel that can take in line fast.

Same here.
