If you have a Rage Craw, lets take a closer look at the bait. The first thing I like

is the packaging. Big O takes special pride in his designs and delivers the product

to us in PERFECT condition.

Design? Subtle differences, but in the case of the DB Craw, VERY specific. This

was deigned by Big O in conjunction with the input of touring pros and Strike King

Pro Staffers. The result is a more subtle action than the Rage Craw and Lobster.

Now for the "special touch". Examine the edging carefully. There is an exclusive

patent on this design. This is the feature that creates a unique quiver by these baits.

The patterns themselves were hand crafted by Big O himself.

Now the knock? Some people have issues with the plastic formula. These baits are

certainly much softer than "generics", perhaps on par or close to GYCB products.

Well, that's a matter of personal preference. I have a VERY STRONG bias towards

soft plastic and have in fact asked Big O personally if he could offer another version

extra soft!  I think this makes a deciding difference,

" From a human perspective, they're like Twinkies".

Well, certainly can't argue with that! Made by the best, to be the best.

At one time I would have disagreed and said I wanted a more durable plastic but now I agree. The Perfect Plastics and the Rage Tail are top of the line. Cost a bit more than they use to but they're super soft and come in great packaging that preserves the integrity of the baits. Also, that coffee smell may not matter to the bass but I love it lol.

For fun fishing I use the cheap stuff, but on tournament day you better believe I have the Rage Tail products in my tackle bag.

I love the clam shell pkg. The baits are worth the

Cost to me... I use other plastics.. But when I am in a zone... It's always with a rage craw of one size or another...I was amazed truly by the amount of work that went into the rage baits on whole! A lot of science involved that's for sure!

Any one who knows Ole Catt know I'm a plastic freak!

Steve Parks gave me the honor of trying his lures before they were on the market in many cases.

What sold me was action alone!

In my mind if a single plastic lure catches one bass its done its job.

I do throw many other plastics but Rage is closing the door!

Each bait is repeatedly tested, re-tested, tested, and re-tested again with different softness/firmness and durability factors in place, until the perfect combination is reached to be the most fish-catchingest bait it can be. Big O is extremely particular about them being perfect long before they go to market.  If there were a better formula, it would be in the clamshells.

Thanks for the comments and YES we are always making any and all improvements possible to increase action results from both the Bait and the Bass ;) There's extensive Testing on all designs prior to placing them on the market... perfect example is this years new design, RAGE Bug. It's been in our Pro's hands for mths now and I fished it for a couple of years prior. It's RIGHT now so marketing will start this Summer. I'll have samples at the Roadtrip this year for those of you who make it. Hope y'all like it, cause the bass sure do :)

Okay guys, I have a question. I've been a member on BR for a year and buy from the site sponsors whenever possible, so I picked up a pack of rage tails ~5 months ago. I put them on a jig as a trailer and the action looked great, but every second or third cast they would slide down the hook. The netbait paca craws I use never do this. Is there a fix to them sliding down the hook on my jig?

I dont see them being any worse than other plastics, but you heres a few things I do.

Stick a short peice of a toothpick horizontally through the eye of the hook/plastic, be sure to keep it short so it doesnt protrude out and grab algae.

You can also wrap a couple wraps of solder wire around the end of the hook. Leave a point sticking out and it will dig into the plastic and hold it.
