I just had a brand new 2014 115 horse Mercury 4 stroke installed. Any tips on breaking it in?

It should be spelled out in the manual. Use that as your bible. Some motors have it programmed in the ECM so they do it automatically.

Follow the Mercury instructions

That's what I have planned to do.

Congratulations! I'd hate to tell you anything wrong, but my uncle got a 225 Mercury and we had to drive it with the trim all the way down for an hour. Ask the dealer or call Mercury. Get ethanol free gas.

Good luck getting ethanol free has anywhere!! Very few places even have it anymore.

The gas station carries it near the lake I fish. Thank goodness. Costs about $.50 more per gallon though.

New boat engines are designed to run ethanol gas now days.

Be religious about following the break in instructions.  Sometimes that takes a while.

That's good news! Worrying about this ethanol on older engines is getting old, fast!
