Most Versatile 7'0" ~ 7'3" Mh Baitcasting Rod ?

If you had to pick just one baitcasting rod in the above category - what would it be ?

Jigs , Spinner / Chatter Baits , Carolina Rigs , Moderate Flipping & Pitching , Frogs , Moderate Swim Baits , T-Rigs , etc. all would appear to fit in that often used 7'0" to 7'3" baitcasting rod length MH action category . Thanks in advance for the replies !

My most versatile rod is a St Croix LTB 7' M-F.

All : I should have stated M to MH rod action as different manufacturers specs can over lap OR you may like a M action over a MH rod action (and vise versa) for defined reasons as your most versatile batcasting rod .

Dobyns 734. Technically a heavy but this rod can do almost everything.

My MH Duckett Micro Magic will handle pretty much everything. Compared to other MH rods I've used, the tip is a bit softer, and allows the casting of really light lures, as well as handling some treble hook duties well considering it isn't a cranking rod. I actually call it my ATV rod, and is usually my choice when I go bank fishing because it wil do almost everything pretty well.

Medium and Medium Heavy are powers not actions, but I'm sure everyone knew what you were getting at.   My most versatile rod in that range would be a Dobyns 734C, classified as a heavy power but much closer to an actual Medium Heavy in my opinion.

I only have experience with st. Croix. If you're looking for a very versatile rod. Something that could do a lot, I'd go with a st. Croix Avid 7ft medium heavy/fast action. You can really do a lot with this rod. I throw jigs 3/8-1/2oz. Even 3/4 from time to time. Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, weighted plastics and worms. I can pitch with it into lighter cover, throw lipless cranks and buzzbaits. You get the picture. If you have the cash, move up to a 7'1 LTB or the grandaddy of them all, a 7ft legend xtreme in the same power and action.

Now if your looking for a medium heavy rod with a little more power for pitching and flipping, possibly a frog rod and lighter swimbaits. The avid, tournament and xtreme line all have a 7'6 Medium heavy/moderate fast. Great rod if you enjoy throwing heavier jigs. This rod is also very versatile just with different techniques. In my arsenal I would have to say my real all around rod a 7'3" MH/F Veritas.  Not saying it is the "best" rod I own, but I feel it is the most "versatile".  It can essentially do everything with the exception of lighter techniques.  My other rods though EXCEL at the techniques I use them for.

I'll throw just about any lure with my irod 704C. The lure weight rating on it is 1/4 oz to 1 oz, but the sweet spot is about 5/8 oz. That rod is money! Spinner baits, jigs, swim baits, worms, anything you can think of, it can handle. It's turned into my pitching rod, too.

The 843 has a softer tip and would probably be a better choice for you. The 844 is for

dedicated weighted soft plastics and jigs, but can be used for all medium to heavy lures.

Just to complicate matters, another favorite of mine is the MBR842C/ Core 50 Mg. This

is my dedicated swim jig and small swimbait rod.

G-Loomis MBR843C IMX or GLX. I am talking about the last model IMX with the full cork grip. If I were to buy one rod and it's a MH/F 7 footer, I am getting the 843 GLX as my do a bunch of things rod and do them well.

If you are deciding between these two rods for T Rigs and moving baits like spinnerbaits etc, get the 843. I have both in IMX and the 844 is probably my favorite rod but with the 843 you can fish lighter baits better and still throw a 1/2 oz spinnerbait with no problems.

A seven foot medium extra fast and medium heavy mod fast can and will serve many purposes. I really like the Kistler Klx mod fast rods, and the Batson Rainshadow extra fast blanks.

The majority of my rods have Fast actions because I believe it is the most versatile.  Current favorite rods are a 6'10" MF Smallmouth, 7' MHF RX7 Rainshadow and 7'2" MHF Cumara...the older black model.
