PondHopper96 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 A majority of the time when I'm cranking I'll throw a rick clunn or a kvd 2.5 but I'd like to get some that are maybe a little more top notch! Thanks guys Quote
livetofish28 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 What's wrong with the ones that your using? The rick clunns and kvds are both awesome baits if they're working why change them? Tight lines Andrew 6 Quote

PondHopper96 Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Because I always want to throw what has the best chance of catching me a linker! I also have a tendency to question lures and I'm doing that now lol, Quote

Super User AK-Jax86 Posted April 9, 2014 Super User Posted April 9, 2014 Lol the Storm Arashi is getting some decent reviews that's one bait I've been meaning to get my hands on but I mainly throw the kvd's The storms are good I use them I have the bluegill and rusty craw. They run a little deeper than the 1.5s and they have a wider wobbling action. I like them a lot only problem is I wish they offered some better colors that's why I love my KVD 1.5/2.5 they have a bunch of very good colors. Quote
Americanzero Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 The Rive2Sea Biggie is pretty nice, and they have some awesome colors. Quote

Comfortably Numb Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I like the Baker suspending but have been digging the more shallow running H2O CRS lately 1 Quote
mnbassman23 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I'm not a big fan of SK but I do like the 1.5 and 2.5. The bluegill pattern caught me a ton of fish last year. Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 10, 2014 Super User Posted April 10, 2014 KVD 1.5 with rattles. Killer. Quote
Crankinstein Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 KVDs and RCs have always been good to me. The bass in my lake have moved super shallow in only 2ft in one cove so I've really been hitting them hard this week with shallow square bills. I'm testing the Sebile Bull crank tomorrow on them and I've also ordered a few spro baby fat johns which aren't technically full blown square bills but they do have a very similar functionality. War Eagle 44 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Lately (I'd say the last year) I've really been fishing, with great results, the Spro Fat John. I've got a few different colors but Cell Mate just gets bit so well that's my main color. Also really like the Lucky Craft RC 1.5's in Copper Green Shad. Although I will add that I picked up a couple of Rick's Luck E Strike cranks and they have been good too. KVD 1.5's are of course a very good bait. I picked up a few Spro Baby Fat John's late last year but I haven't fished them much yet. They do "hunt" really well on a nice steady retrieve though. Quote
Lip 'em! Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 KVD 1.5s usually get the call for me, but lately a Spro Little John has been my top producer. Quote
ak47soulja22 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Bandit neff said.... Pineapple color if you can find them. If you don't catch fish on it pm me and I'll buy the bait off ya. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 10, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 10, 2014 I've got a bunch of LC 1.5's and love them, but anymore I find myself reaching for my H2O squarebills a majority of the time. They swim great, good color options, and cost less than $5 a bait. 1 Quote
CJV Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 LC RC 1.5 all time favorite LC KJ flat Ima Bill Lowen square bills Megabass Knuckle 60 Spro also makes some good crankbaits. Quote

Good picks, I'll add a 100 Bandit, and the way too expensive combat crank. Copper green shad should be illegal. Quote
jdw174 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I'd like to help you out, OP, but I use either KVD or Bomber squarebills exclusively. The Bombers work well for me. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 10, 2014 Super User Posted April 10, 2014 #1 for me is the Norman Fat Boy (redear). I am also a big fan of the Lucky Craft 2.5. 2 Quote
slimshad Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 KVD 1.5 They offer way too many colors tho... I down sized my color selections to shad, red and yellow. I have been buying some custom painted ones for spring though. I have tons of crawdads in my livewell that have the same color on them. I had them in Alabama, Indiana and Kentucky this year already. Green pumpkin with an orange bottom/craws. I am going to try to get a airbrush and do it myself soon. Quote
