My List

Why didn't you like tuf line xp? I thought it was pretty good.

Bill dance baitcast combo from bass pro. That being said it was the combo I attempted to learn bait casting on, so that may have had something to do with it

It's funny you mention Iron Silk because that, along with Vanish fluoro, was the first thing that popped into my head.

Vanish was next on the list

No matter what knot I used it would strip a layer of the line off. very inconvenient when you have it on 3 reels and you just started an 8 hour day on lake Erie. Maybe I just got a bad spool

I haven't had a lot of issues with stuff because I research a lot before I buy. Only things I can think of off the top of my head are some spiderwire fluorocarbon I got on sale that was super stiff. Oh, the Dahlberg diving frog was pretty terrible as well.

I honestly have not had many/any issues with any products out there. Most of the time if i don't like a product i just didn't know how to use it correctly...

This is a tough one because most products i have used worked as designed but the design was bad :)  I liked the Dahlberg frogs mentioned earlier and caught a lot of fish in them.  As far as bad goes it was a bill dance bait caster combo i bought when i was getting back into bass fishing after a few year hiatus.  It worked ok and i thought the grinding noise was normal....then i got a citica and learned a little bit.

the other thing that has done poorly for me are floating stanley ribbits....

I liked Iron Silk line and I was sorry it was discontinued.  I thought it was a great reaction bait line.  The new Trilene XL Armor Coated seems like virtually the same thing.

I never had any good results with P-Line.

Line - Viscous Fluoro was the springiest POS line I have EVER used.  I never had a problem with Vanish, this stuff was total useless junk that I wouldn't wish on my WORST enemy.  Even my guide (A former FLW Pro) had issues when using my rod because the stuff was so springy.  It makes me mad just thinking about it lol.

Reel - A $40 BPS reel that's gears stripped simply working a topwater.  Anti-reverse went too.  1 use and done.  I didn't know anything about reels but this one is my fault because you do get what you pay for.

Rod - Nothing really terrible.  I have had success with all the rods I have used from tec-spec to skeet reese up to Steez rods.  The most disappointed I have been was in a Steez Ouchita Flipping/Frog rod because it was heavier, more tip heavy and less sensitive than my champ 736 and almost double the price.

Ardent Line butter was just that, butter.  It is the worst thing to put on your reel as it would just make everything slippery and greasy.  Rod and reel get dirty and so do your clothes.

never really had a horrible experience...... I read read read , and do a bunch of research before I buy most things

Iron silk didn't work for me either - I bought some zebcos for tourists to use and a couple of them fell apart first day and a couple made it -- but I LOVE my Ardent 1000 - fished it over 500 days without a hitch - everything from winching frogs to pitching jigs - sorry for the plug

Ardent line butter is without a doubt the worst crap ever. sticky and slippery at the same time. It was so bad it gummed op the edges of the spools and worked its way onto the brakes on my MGX's. Total pain in the a** to clean

Vicious fluorocarbon

Pline copolymer man that stuff was stuff and kinky

H20 express tungsten weights with the inserts can't even fit 65lb braid thru the insert

Original spiderwire braid dug down into the spool

I forgot about Vicious Fluoro  it makes my list, like fishing with a slinky

Definitely Berkely Vanish

It is called Vanish because that is what happens to your lure on hooksets, it vanishes! Besides that I will add anything made by Sebile.
