fishinthedacks Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I have searched all over and see plenty of venison jerkey for sales. Expensive of of course. But the wife and I love it. We devour our venison steaks and jerkey in a month or two. I see Wild bills makes some which I like their regular jerkey but she does not. So who makes the best venison jerkey? I see BPS has some but you get elk bison etc which I'm good with but I'd prefer to just buy bulk venison jerkey. Next year she's getting her license so we can take double but for now I'm tired of begging people to sell my some venison haha. I can't believe people don't like venison. I think it's one of the tastiest, more versatile meats right there with beef and pork if not better. Also just found a company who is selling wild boar sausage, duck sausage, bison sausage etc. I love gamey meats and am pumped price chopper is now selling them. The wild boar tastes almost the exact same as the hogs I took down in Florida. Very satisfied. That sausage with a little beer and brat spicy horse radish mustard mmm mmm mmm. But to get back on topic who sell the best commercial venison jerkey? Quote

Super User slonezp Posted April 8, 2014 Super User Posted April 8, 2014 The jerky is very addicting. He's about a 20 minute drive from the house. I could eat a $30 bag of black pepper or hot pepper jerky like they were potato chips Quote
tipptruck1 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I think I have had his stuff. The packaging looks like jerky they had at my local Gander. Quote

Super User .dsaavedra. Posted April 11, 2014 Super User Posted April 11, 2014 My buddy and I have developed quite the jerky recipe. It works for beef or venison, so long as you cut your meat ~ 1/4" thick. Basically it is 1/3 soy sauce, 2/3 worchesterschire sauce, a good bit of liquid smoke, enough onion powder to cover the surface of the marinade in a bowl, enough garlic powder to cover the surface, a good couple pinches of brown sugar, and most importantly, a sh!t ton of black pepper. In reality all these ingredients can be altered to taste or depending on how much meat you have. Sometimes we like to thrown in some chipotle sauce or some crushed red pepper. Quote

I do a variation of this only I add some honey into the mix. Works well, not only with black pepper, but crushed red pepper. Quote
