fishingkidPA Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 i found this Rapala, i think its about 5 and a half inches. It looks like a baby northern pike. But i don't know what id catch on it, it dives 4-14 feet. Could i use it for LM? are they that picky? i also fish for small mouth maybe they would go after it. But what do you guys think? Quote
bass or bass ? Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Should work for either. Nice looking lure. Where do you live? I grew up just north of Pittsburgh. I also lived in Crafton / Ingram for a few years and my son lives in McKees Rocks. Quote

Now if i want to go local i need to go to marshall lake by NP ice skating rink or out in pine township they have a lake packed with nice bass. Have you ever fished the 3 rivers? got any good spots for me to check out? i was just fishing the ohio at the emsworth dam but didnt catch anything Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted February 24, 2011 Super User Posted February 24, 2011 I'll fish Jointed Raps for bass sometimes. Not often, but they do well from time to time. More than anything we catch pike and walleye on them. Quote
fishingkidPA Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 yea my dad hammers the walleye on them, his friend caught a 13 pounder. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 24, 2011 Super User Posted February 24, 2011 LM, SM, and anything else that eats other fish. Hey, at least you'll be in for a surprise every time you reel something in. Quote
Hamby Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 I fish a jointed rapala in that size a lot. Swim it slowly just under the surface, then give it a quick rip to make it dive, then let it slowly float back up. Make sure you're watching the line when it's floating back up because they'll inhale it and swim off slowly. I usually fish it in a bright color because sometimes the only indication of a bite is the sudden absence of the bright glow. It's a great lure for catching anything in the area. I catch anything from 15" bass to pike over 30". Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 24, 2011 Super User Posted February 24, 2011 That 's a Jointed 13, I use it for bassin ' , have caught a big bunch of fish with it. Quote
