Bruce424 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Watching it now. Pretty interesting. I love this show Quote
EvanT123 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I always watch but I dunno it's getting depressing. Seems like every episode is some CSI about what fish killed someone and we never really get an answer. How about some badA giant topwater river action. Quote
basshole8190 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Yea ill watch it but not crazy about it. the edited in bait clicker sound is annoying. and he seems to always catch catfish on cut bait. how bout some wolf fish or jumbo peacock or massive nile perch and tiger fish. we wanna see some terrifying predators instead of a ninja session in the jungle for catfish or oversized gold fish Quote

Cranking in a fish on a big spinning reel or low profile casting reel and they edit in the clicking noise for dramatic effect I guess? The drama of the whole thing is a little overdone too. Still, it's a show about fish and fishing so I watch it despite the little things that annoy me. One of my favorite episodes was when he was trying to catch the Gnooch catfish and caught a giant softshell turtle that almost got one of the crew members, 1:57 in the clip. Quote
basshole8190 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Agreed the goonch catfish is kind of beastly that episode was a good one Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 didnt even realize it started last night. wouldnt have mattered though. i spent $70 to order Wrestlemania 30 and was dang sure i was gonna watch that regardless of what else was on.... Quote

I use a bait clicker system when I catch catfish... they are pretty convenient. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted April 7, 2014 Super User Posted April 7, 2014 After he went wading in a raging river during the beginning of typhoon season in the mountains(i forgot the country) to land that massive 160 or 180# catfish that apparently had been dragging people down by their feet.......the show just went all sorts of downhill after that. There was just such a small chance he was ever going to top that. Quote
basshole8190 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Edited baitclicker?? Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 8, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 8, 2014 yea baitclickers are a useful tool but not sure if spinning reels have baitclickers and its always goinng off everytime he catches a fish Big spinning reels with baitfeeders click when a fish is pulling line, but not when you start reeling and the baitfeeder shuts off. A lot of times he is using big casting reels that have bait clickers, which I agree are a must for still fishing for big fish, but a lot of the reels he uses don't have bait clickers and they edit the clicking sound in.
