Looking at getting a Dobyns rod for jigs, mainly 3/8 to 3/4oz. Looking at a 734 or 735 just not sure if the Extreme is worth the extra money. For this application sensitivity is the main point, balance is second. At this point it will be paired with a Chronarch 200E7. Anyone with experience with both willing to share their thoughts?

If sensitivity is the main focus, go for the Extreme. At those weights, go 745. Balance will be be great in either series.

Dx745 is my favorite jig rod.

I just got one over winter to pair with a Core100 mg7. I am dying to use mine. It will be a huge upgrade from my lower end rods.

I fish both 745 and 735 and theyre just different rods. It totally depends on your hands. Champions are sensitive enough jig rods for fishing jigs in timber like I do, I much prefer DXs when throwing tx rigs though.

I love my 745 for 3/8-1/2oz jigs. Feels very good in my hands.

I'm the same as the rest of the crowd here, DX745 strickly for jigs, 735C for frogs.

Well that seems pretty clear, looks like a DX745 it will be. Now to finish my college degree, this will be a present to myself for finally finishing. Being 42 years old and doing homework is no fun. Will keep an eye out for good sales though, may have to cheat on timing for the right sale.

Thanks for the input!

Congrats on your hard work!  You're never too old to apply yourself and learn. You deserve a reward for your hard work.  I only have one Dobyns so I don't have much input there.  Good luck with the new stick
