Listening to the way some of you guys, Roadwarrior, and others talk about the high end G Loomis rods tweaked my interest. I was recently able to acquire 2 GLX's. Got to fish them last week and they are awesome. So tomorrow I am going to pick up a brand new NRX J&W rod. I am as excited as a kid, the night before Christmas.

Have you decided what you're going to get? I couldn't be happier with the 893 (I usually throw 3/8 oz) but I know some guys like to go a little heavier. Congratulations in advance... you're going to love it!

I was going to say the same thing. If you haven't already decided on which model,I highly recommend the 893. It was my first NRX mostly because it is talked about the most as being THE rod in the NRX lineup.

TT had a thread titled if you could only have one NRX, and the 893 was the overwhelming majority. Truly an amazing rod.

Got my NRX. Got the 803c j&w rod. I'm used to 6'8" rods. Also, that's the longest rod that I can fit in my vehicle. Also, couldn't resist. Got a Shimano core 100Mg7 to mount on it. Oh happy day!!

Will do. I'm sure you have seen on some of my previous posts, I have always questioned this sensitivity thing. I guess I'm about to find out for myself. I sure hope I have been wrong....lol. If I can't tell the difference between an NRX and a $50.00 BPS Tourney Special, I'll just chalk it up to numb hands...lol.

With that rod, you will be able to tell what type of grass you are feeling. You will actually be able to feel when you drag from a clay bottom, onto sand or silt bottom. You will know if there's bark on a branch as you pull your bait over it. And if a fish even farts near your bait, you are gonna know about it. I had the chance to fish an 893 for a day, and the sensitivity is jaw-dropping. I want one baaad!!

Don't want to make you cry, but I walked out of the store with an out of pocket cost of $164.00. Reel brand new, rod brand new. Just traded some more stuff I wasn't using. $900.00 rig,.... $164.00.
