Hey guys, I'm getting pretty excited just did some work at a cottage on Canandaigua lake and saw all the ice melting! (it's about time) and also bought a ton of new baits online today. I'm 23 and have been fishing in this area my whole life. I'm looking to start fishing the finger lakes more consistently this year. I have a canoe, but without any pockets to hide from the wind and only myself to paddle it's not alot of fun. although I have a good paying job, being fresh out of college with school loans makes getting my own boat not an option. I'm looking for someone with a boat who would like to have a fishing buddy. I live in Palmyra NY, and am willing to travel anywhere around the area, and can also help with gas or w.e. let me know if anyone is interested.

I've fished from my canoe in Canandaigua's extreme south end many times. It's fine as long as there's not a strong north wind.

Marty, I have done that a few times as well, and it has worked but even still it can change in a flash... its like a wind tunnel being between the two mountains.. great pickerel fishing there too!!!

I have a place east of you on De Ruyter Reservoir. I hope to get over your way this spring/summer and try a few of those finger lakes.

I've been fishing Canandaigua for almost 35 years and am very well acquainted with the wind tunnel effect. Fishing the south end of north-south lakes has its frustrations, to say the least.

Well ww2farmer I'm not a big talker and I normally fish alone anyways so being quiet shouldn't be a problem lol. Where do you normally fish? i'd love to join sometime.

Silver lake 120+ times a year since it's in my back yard, Conesus as much as I can when I have the time, and Honeyoe once in a while. It's still going to be 10 days before we have ice free water down here. After that a anyone is welcome anytime.
