bclark7b Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Hey guys, I'm getting pretty excited just did some work at a cottage on Canandaigua lake and saw all the ice melting! (it's about time) and also bought a ton of new baits online today. I'm 23 and have been fishing in this area my whole life. I'm looking to start fishing the finger lakes more consistently this year. I have a canoe, but without any pockets to hide from the wind and only myself to paddle it's not alot of fun. although I have a good paying job, being fresh out of college with school loans makes getting my own boat not an option. I'm looking for someone with a boat who would like to have a fishing buddy. I live in Palmyra NY, and am willing to travel anywhere around the area, and can also help with gas or w.e. let me know if anyone is interested. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 5, 2014 Super User Posted April 5, 2014 I am a couple hours east of you. If you ever fish the Adirondacks or Albany/Schenectady county let me know. Quote

bclark7b Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Hey jar11591 Ive been up in the Adirondacks a few times, and if I ever make my way up there again ill def pm you. Quote
Super User Marty Posted April 5, 2014 Super User Posted April 5, 2014 I've fished from my canoe in Canandaigua's extreme south end many times. It's fine as long as there's not a strong north wind. Quote
bclark7b Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Marty, I have done that a few times as well, and it has worked but even still it can change in a flash... its like a wind tunnel being between the two mountains.. great pickerel fishing there too!!! Quote
Chief 2 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I have a place east of you on De Ruyter Reservoir. I hope to get over your way this spring/summer and try a few of those finger lakes. Quote
bclark7b Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Send me a pm if you do end up coming out here. I'd love to tag along! Quote

I've been fishing Canandaigua for almost 35 years and am very well acquainted with the wind tunnel effect. Fishing the south end of north-south lakes has its frustrations, to say the least. Quote
