grampa1114 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 So I weighed my tackle today and it came in at a chubby 32.5lb...How about you? Quote
FlipSide Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I did it a while back and my tackle bag weighed 47lbs I think Quote
boostr Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I don't want to know...I probably be ashamed of my self. Quote
frogflogger Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I'd have to go to a drive on scales at a truck stop 6 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 5, 2014 Super User Posted April 5, 2014 Right at or perhaps even a little more than the safe / recommended capacity of the Old Town . . . . . A-Jay Quote
Super User Raul Posted April 5, 2014 Super User Posted April 5, 2014 So I weighed my tackle today and it came in at a chubby 32.5lb...How about you? Not bad for a starter kit. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 5, 2014 Super User Posted April 5, 2014 So I weighed my tackle today and it came in at a chubby 32.5lb...How about you? I think that's just about what my terminal tungsten bag weighs ? OK - I might be exaggerating a little for effect . . . . . . 2 Quote
hatrix Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I think that's just about what my terminal tungsten bag weighs ? OK - I might be exaggerating a little for effect . . . . . . No kidding. I need to figure out how to cut some weight on my travel bookbag. It's a bugout bag from when I was in the military a holds a insane amount of stuff. Really the soft plastics and giant swimbait type lures are what kills you. Pounds of tungsten and hooks don't help either. 1 Quote
McAlpine Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I gave up on tackle boxes. The front half of the boat holds 3700's. If your still weighing a single tackle box your just warming up. ;-) Quote
Super User Darren. Posted April 6, 2014 Super User Posted April 6, 2014 Wow. Y'all put me to shame. My *current* bag only ways 10.9 lbs. But that's just what I'm using right now. I try to keep my setup as light as I can in my kayak. And I try to bring only my "best", or most productive stuff. And I'm finally carrying some hard lures, cranks (lipless and lipped) - one 3600 size box. If I were to weigh all of my tackle, it would easily crest 50 pounds. But most of it sits and never sees use.... Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted April 6, 2014 Super User Posted April 6, 2014 So I weighed my tackle today and it came in at a chubby 32.5lb...How about you? That's it!! ..... just teasing. I have never taken the time to weigh all my tackle, all I can say its very heavy. lol.... Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 7, 2014 Global Moderator Posted April 7, 2014 Last time I weighed my tackle bag was on a flight to Mexico. That was back in 04 and it was a very scaled down version and weighed in at a dainty 83.5 pounds, enough that I had to put a couple 3700 boxes into my clothes bag or pay an overweight fee Now I'd have to load it all into the boat and truck and weigh it on truck scales. I flew to Tx last May and my big luggage bag was 60lbs of just fishing stuff. So I had to shove 10lbs of plastics into my carry on to make weight. Quote
daiwaguy Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 My home scale has a 330lb limit so I will have to get back to you on this! Quote
Kevin22 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I don't even want to know. Wild guess would be probably 200lbs. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted April 7, 2014 Super User Posted April 7, 2014 Right around 60 lbs of soft plastics Quote
mjseverson24 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 i dont have a clue on all of the tackle i have, but the stuff that comes on the boat is in the 120# range... Mitch Quote
papajoe222 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 So I weighed my tackle today and it came in at a chubby 32.5lb...How about you? My plastics alone weight at least twice that. I'll put it this way, if I take someone fishing with me I have to unload about 50lb. of gear to keep my boat from being overloaded. Quote
