Super User Master Bait'r Posted April 4, 2014 Super User Posted April 4, 2014 For me right now it's how much I really hope this guy hasn't sold this rod yet and he's willing to ship it to me right away. I don't even want to say what it is or how much he's letting it go for, lest the jinx monkey catch a whiff! Could be a dream come true!! Also I need these temps to rise and pads to break the surface again. These frogs aren't gonna fish themselves! So how about you? What's on your mind today? Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted April 4, 2014 Super User Posted April 4, 2014 Yes.... 7" of rain roads are just now passable. Hope you get you're rod!! Must be a killer deal! Quote
JaxBasser Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 How much I want work to be over so I can fish. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted April 4, 2014 Super User Posted April 4, 2014 Well my tackle boxes are sorted out and my lures are placed where they should be ready for early morning fishing in the pre dawn dark. My new rod and reel setups are ready but they need to be tested soon so I'm sure there are no glitches with them. I can't afford equipment failures in the dark. My little one battery flashlights are ready. I'm stocked up on hooks and bobbers for the grandsons first fishing trip. I purchased him a new batman combo for Easter. He looks inside every tackle box I have at the lures every time he comes over. He is hooked on fishing before we start. I admit I buy him everything. I'm not sure how long I'll be here no one knows that. I will leave him enough to fish with for sure. I'll pass on what fishing skills I have to him. Now we just need the warm weather. Yup once it was eat, sleep, work & fish. Now being retired its eat, sleep & fish more. 3 Quote

Tartan34 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Hoping the 88 deg forecast for Sunday is overestimated. Hoping the wind is stronger than the 7mph forecasted. Getting my tourney rigs narrowed down to 6 rods for boat deck. Waiting for FedEx to get here to restock a few baits....and so I can stop panicking. Quote
5dollarsplash Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I'm with Dwight. Winterkill has been on my mind a lot. Tough winter for fish here. Quote

RAMBLER Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 For several years we didn't get the rain we needed to keep the small lakes up where they should be. Some were so low (how low Johnny) we couldn't launch a boat and some not even a canoe. Now, this year we have had loads of rain in what is normally the dry season. The lakes are up, way up. The last three times I've been out, on three different bodies of water, I did not catch one fish. The water is way, way out in the woods. In one lake, I actually ran my boat up into the woods (with the trolling motor). I was tossing a worm up in the brush. Didn't catch anything, but I was fishing in the woods. I am wondering, now, what is going to be the new normal, this year. Quote

Super User Ratherbfishing Posted April 4, 2014 Super User Posted April 4, 2014 Ice fishing notwithstanding, it's been so long since I've fished that it seems like something OTHER people do. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted April 4, 2014 Super User Posted April 4, 2014 I just hope for some top water action this weekend! Going out for the first time in a long time with my girlfriend and she gets so excited catching bass on topwater. Quote

I wont have an answer for it until May 10th (fishing opener)... Mitch A closed season would bother me a great deal. As for what's on my mind; While I would rather it be all day, the 2-3 hours I am going to fish in the morning can't get here fast enough. Quote
jhoffman Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I have yet to fish this year. A 301 series cardiff hit the doorstep today with no rod because I didnt order it yet. Is this box im intending on making my hanging swimbait box too large? My boat has sat now for six months, is it gonna start? Quote
