I have a few cranks SK xd series (3,5,6) and want to replace the split rings and trebles....I like the KVD 1x strong 2x short triple grips but wonder what are the CORRECT sizes for each?

6, 4, 4 should be the correct ones.

imo most guys don't need to change out hooks. they are just wasting money feeding expensive trebles to stumps. i would however change them out of i was a semi-pro angler....or if i lived in Texas.

or if the lure had extremely cheap trebles.  SK hooks are plenty good for the average angler. just food for thought

Using the KVD Mustad hooks I'd go #4's for the 3, #2's for the 5, and #1's on the 6. I don't have any series 3 cranks but these are the hooks I have on my series 5 & 6 baits and they work beautifully.

The hooks on the xd series are solid for the average angler. The hooks on the 1.5 sized baits are awful  and should be changed.

Is there anywhere to confirm that actual sizes of hooks on crank baits?

I have some KVD 2.5 squarebills I need to change some hooks on.

I just replaced the hooks on a lot of my 3XDs.  I put a 6 on the front and a 4 on the back, both of them short shanks.  Going to see if it makes a difference with snags.

Those 3xd hooks are garbage.   I caught a couple of dinks one day and they were bent out.

I found that on a website we can't name here that lists the hook sizes.  Funny they didn't have the xd hooks listed but square bills were.

When I replace trebles I go up one size on the rear treble hook.
