Just wanted to pass on a good find if others are interested. I do a lot of pond and bank fishing. Carrying my old hard plano tacklebox by the handle gets heavy and leaves only one hand free. Was really looking for something I could sling over my shoulder so have been looking at a lot of soft bags. Got a big plano soft tackle box, but, its big and bulky - I love it, but, carrying it through the woods and along banks can be a bit cumbersome.

Started looking at something smaller and came across this back pack on Cabela's and gave it a shot: Cabela's Angler Backpack BPS has something similar as well as a Browning bag. I chose the Cabela's bag because it seemed to offer the most space and more flexibility.

So far, I am VERY pleased. Is very well made - thick padding and heavy zippers with heavy rope pulls. The bottom is a solid flexible rubber bottom. Has some slots in the bottom where bags, sleeping bag, etc. can be attached. I am able to carry (4) 3600 boxes, full (bulging) worm wallet, tools, couple of extra reels, note pad, boga grip, cell phone and camera. Seems like it would be pretty water proof and one compartment is labeled as waterproof that has an extra lining under the zipper. Really like the heavy handle on top - a feature some of the other bags did not have; very handy.

I am 6'-2" and weigh around 325. The waist belt is a little tight but I just don't use it. The shoulder straps are easily adjustable.

If you are looking for something that is easy to carry, and has space I definitely recommend this.

And yes, the bait monkey has been all over me.

I looked at the one in Bass PRo but I went with the Extreme which is an over the shoulder ones. I needed something to keep me and my two childrens stuff easy to get too. O still use a Back pack for food and such.. J

I have that one and really like it. I use it on and off my boat mine came with 4 3600 boxes but it can be had without them.

It isn't cost prohibitive either, at $39.99... I may have to pick it up as soon as possible.  Carrying two bulging tackle boxes one for hard baits, the other for softs, is getting to be a big pain in the...um... shoulders...
