Super User Jar11591 Posted April 3, 2014 Super User Posted April 3, 2014 Here in upstate NY the temperatures are looking up this week. In the 50s all week with nights in the high 30s and 40s. I hope to be fishing by mid next week, maybe even the rivers this weekend. How is everyone else from the NE doing as far as ice out? Quote
Mike2841 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Just about everything has cleared up here in mass near me, I think maybe further west in the state they still have some ice. Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I saw a truck on the ice on Tuesday on Lake Champlain by grand isle. Still plenty of ice around here and in western Maine also. Some of the rivers have cleared out a bit, some are even close to being fishable. Quote

A week or two ago I went to one of my spots hopefully trying to make a couple casts and when I got there, hoards of ice-fishermen still! But the end is near. Quote
bucketmouth_fishin Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I was fishing over at Winning Pond in Billerica, Ma today and it was pretty much open except for about 1/4 of it. Ended up hooking up with my PB LMB! He had to be 6+, I will never know though because I had no scale or phone to take a pic! Left it all in the truck! Caught him on a blue and black skirted football jig with an orange Havoc Craw trailer in some logs/branches underwater. Not bad for the first time out. Also saw some monster sized carp in there. Never new there was carp on that pond. So glad the warm weather is here! 1 Quote
