Still a good looking pooch.  I'm thinking I'll try my 1 year old springer mix in the boat this year without any tackle.  I'm not sure how she'll handle it yet, but she loves bank fishing.

I might fish a little with his first trip, but probably just riding around.

How could that lil fella with such a cute face be a pita!!

I'll be taking my border collie mix with me on the water this year. But first I have to break her of her fear of fishing rods.

Lol nice.  My springer thinks I'm in danger when I have a fish on and we're bank fishing.  Thats what keeps me from saying we'll go fishing together this year, if I can break her of attacking the fish and bouncing around we'll be in the clear.

Here's a picture of the fierce protector

Looks like a lab or a lab mix Scrogg , I wouldn't think he would not be too hard to train , although I know those dogs are super hyper when they are young .

Great looking dog !!

This is my wife's fishing partner , "Sarge"

He's a full lab. But when he gets wet, like that pic was took after a bath, his hair gets curls to it.

Craziest thing. He's done well with training. Crate trained, house broke, recall training.

Our little Oakley is almost a year old. Short coat black lab. She's a knucklehead of vast dimensions.

I ended up buying a training collar in order to restrain + train her. If she gets out of the house/jumps the fence, she's in run-away heaven and it takes forever to corral her. This collar from Dogtra works wonderfully, despite my reservations to actually use something like this. We use the "pager" mode which is just a vibration 98% of the time and it works like a charm. Have only had to nick her a couple times. We do not use the "continuous" zap.

Anyhow, FWIW. Bought the Dogtra 300M at Bass Pro.

When bank fishing he likes to explore. But, if he a bit too far for my liking, I give the recall and he comes running.

Got him when he was 37lbs, he is now 165lbs, he won't be getting on any boat lol... This pic was taken last year when he was 5-7months old.. He's huge now!

They like boats too. Bit of a pain if I'm fishing out of the back of my boat though as he always wants to be as close as possible to the action, so ends up trying to stand on the outboard. Usually ends in a big splash.   :laugh5:

My springer loved going fishing, she also loved jumping out of the boat chasing ducks, geese, buzz baits etc.

This will be my fishing partner this year. She's a 4 year old border collie mix, and she is terrified of fishing rods! But I will break her of that before we take to the water.

I had a Golden Retriever as a kid.  I never got in the boat without him, he would not let me.  Those Labs are awesome dogs.

My lab is dumb sometimes but he's not dumb as he acts. For the misses he listens. For me he gives me that look like what the heck are you saying. You know that slanted head look. But I love him anyway. He's my animal in the yard alarm. One day he sounded off with 24 wild turkeys in my yard. Another afternoon it was 9 deer. I think he wants to hunt.
