MemphisFF Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Hey guys headed to pickwick with a buddy this morning how's the lake been fishing and any advice, figures I'll be throwing some lipless and some square bills sexy shad colors or red. Leaving work headed that way, can't wait. Quote
BryanBrown Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Not sure about the lake, but I tried fishing below the dam yesterday with no luck at all. With the water being so low they had the gates closed and maybe 1 generator running so there was literally no current at all... One good thing was I finally got to check out at restaurant there called Top O' The River. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted March 31, 2014 Super User Posted March 31, 2014 Little late seeing this but let us know how you did! Jeff Quote

MemphisFF Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Gonna fish one more day it was pretty brutal today we ended up staying at lil Andy's or bates motel, lol Quote
MemphisFF Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Tough day today caught 3 and all dinks couldn't find no grass, is it too early or did the harsh winter take care of it? I'm still learning pickwick Quote
TJS209 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 The fish are still there. What did you throw? What area of the lake did you fish? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 2, 2014 Super User Posted April 2, 2014 I fished a charity tournament a few weeks ago. The winning pattern was fishing jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits and The Rig below Wheeler Dam (Wilson Lake). My partner and I fished some of his best spots, but without current all we caught were 2 - 2 1/2 lb cookie cutters. Quote
MemphisFF Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Put in pickwick landing and ran before you go to yellow creek fished those two islands and fished the ledges at yellow. Ran down fished panther fished dry also and found a nice spot before we left bruton branch? I believe there building a new marina had new docks but really that was it. Quote
Brian Needham Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I was there March 20-21......... the fish have most likely moved up more, especially in the last few days with the warmth. but my loosely worked pattern was 10-14 fow with deep very close by. caught fish on a shakeyhead......... but my good fish came on a crankbait.
