Smokinal Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I just ordered these pants: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Clothing/Mens-Casual-Clothing/Mens-Rainwear/Mens-Rainwear-Bibs-Pants|/pc/104797080/c/104746680/sc/104522580/i/104090580/Cabelas-GORE-TEX174-EXV8482-Pants-150-Tall/750200.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fmens-rainwear-bibs-pants%2F_%2FN-1100877%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104090580%3Fgclid%3DCIeB1vLZuL0CFTBgMgodLCQA_w%26gclsrc%3Daw.ds%26WTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104797080%253Bcat104522580&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104797080%3Bcat104522580%3Bcat104090580 And there are some good deals on jackets and bibs too. deadadrift89 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 x2 on frogg toggs for boat... just no good for bushwacking Quote
starcraft1 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Keep an eye on cabela's for sales. I picked up both bibs & jacket for 1/2 price last spring. Pro guide wear. Well worth the $$$ Quote
Super User Scott F Posted March 30, 2014 Super User Posted March 30, 2014 Gore-Tex. No, it's not cheap. But think about how much you've spent on all the cheap rain suits you've bought that did not keep you dry and comfortable. Get a good rain suit. You won't be sorry…unless it never rains. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 30, 2014 Global Moderator Posted March 30, 2014 i just stay home when it rains And miss out on some of the best fishing there is Frogg Toggz is you want to keep it cheap, Cabela's Guidewear or BPS 100MPH suit if you can swing them. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted March 30, 2014 Super User Posted March 30, 2014 Bluebasser nailed it I used Frog Toggs for a few seasons and found them lightweight, tough, waterproof and cheap. I might still be using them today, but I removed the jacket one day after a rain, and it blew out of the boat somewhere. Anyone need a pair of Frog Togg pants Cabelas Guidewear is another excellent rainsuit, but will set you back considerably more Roger Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 30, 2014 Super User Posted March 30, 2014 Guidewear is on sale often. The gear is made to last. Mine is over 10 years old and still looks brand new. No leaks, no tears, no seams splitting. Great value for the long-term. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 30, 2014 Super User Posted March 30, 2014 I agree. Spend the money on your rain gear, and it will last you for years, and you won't regret not buying the good stuff when you have to replace a lesser set in a couple years. I have the BPS 100 MPH bibs and jacket, and couldn't be happier with them. I have two friends who also use the Cabela's Guideware, and they are happy with those, as well. Quote
