Brnnoser6983 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I know we don't want to give up all the information such as your lucky spot, but how about we share this. What is your best lake in your state to pull out those monsters? Maybe a lucky lure combo. My lake Clear lake in Washington County MN Great lake, my brother in-law and myself each pulled in a 6lb in the same pocket (And have consistently pulled in bass over 4lbs) We used a White shad Northland Reed-Runner spinner (With a lone narrow willow blade, not the colorado blade) (Also a great lake for tiger musky) Now what about your best lake in your state? Super User Master Bait'r Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Quabbin. Hands down. Insanely clear water, don't allow powerboats and offer two distinctly different sides of massively diverse condidions- the open lake side and the Pog Pond side. The latter of which is BRILLIANT for bass fishing even if you don't have fancy electronics. Lots of heavy cover, deep pools, stumps, laydown and structure in general- and miles of it to explore. Most people stick to the main side so Pog on the Quabbin is one of my favorite spots to go to when I'm headed to a public place. Other than that, I'm not telling 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Best lake in my state, IMO, is Lake of the Ozarks. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Lake Anna for me here in Va. there are a few big water lakes I like to frequent and quite a few smaller ones , but the challenges Anna has to offer are up there with the best of them , it's a nuke plant lake with a ton of diversity , you can find quite a few 2 and 3 lb bass , but finding the better quality fish is where the challenge is at , I both love and hate that lake , some days you get to feel both LOL !! Ima Bass Ninja Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Probably Santee Cooper. But most if the professional tournys that come here always go to Murray , Strom Thurmond ( aka Clark's hill... Why we ever decided to name it something different than Clark's hill is beyond me) or Lake Hartwell. Quote
macmichael Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Table Rock or Lake of the Ozarks for me. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Lake X Let me know when I can throw the swimmers there. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I'm going to say Tablerock. Probably one of the hardest lakes to fish at times also. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Let me know when I can throw the swimmers there. You got it. It's still an ice rink for another month 1 Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 I'll trade ya trips. Say when. Quote
lmoore Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 If you count the Mississippi River pools as a lake (like they did in the 100 best bass lakes ranking), they're tough to beat. Otherwise the IGL (Okiboji, Spirit) are really underutilized as far as bass fishing goes. Monster smallies come out of there every year. Quote
bucketmouthbeatdown Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Michigan...???.....where are you? Quote
Super User geo g Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 In Florida For shire numbers of big fish caught, I would go with the Stick Marsh/Farm 13, in Felesmire, Florida. An incredible number of double digit fish up to 15 pounds, are caught each year. It is a catch and release lake, and I do believe they don't allow tournaments. You can't even put a fish in your live well without a stiff fine. It is a very shallow body of water full of stumps in a large section of the compound. If you blindly run around you could lose your lower unit. The people that know it love it. The fish of a life time lives there! Quote
Mr. Bassin II Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 A 5,00 acre impoundment in Jackson Parish called Caney Lake. Quote
FrogFreak Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I live on the border of ND and MN so I'll comment on both states. Well, in North Dakota it has to be Nelson Lake near Center, ND. It holds the state record and it's a warm water discharge lake for the coal plant so it has open water all year long usually. Hard telling which is the best lake in MN, there are too many to choose from. Leech is hard to beat but there are many that will say Mille Lacs or Minnetonka. Lake of the Woods has some giant smallies as well. And if you like bass that have never seen a lure, go up to the boundary waters. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Falcon Lake Sam Rayburn Lake Fork Amidstad Toledo Bend (we have recorded 43 DDs already) Choke Canyon 9 over 13 lbs state wide! 1 Quote
wpwarhawk Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 We've got a lot of good ones, but I'll vote for Ouachita. Quote
