mram10us Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I am going fishing for smallies on saturday. The temp will be 52f, overcast and light rain. Water temp will be around 50f. Moon - Waning crescent. What do you think would be the best plan to follow? Quote
NathanW Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Your weather looks pretty similar to ours (Snake about 150 miles north of Brownlee), You probably just got over the same cold snap we just had last weekend, now you are dealing with lower pressure and precipitation. I think this weather change is going to help with getting the smallies moving out of their winter locations but I am not sure that they are ready yet. Our water temps last weekend were still in the upper 30s lower 40s. Also, I doubt that stained rain water will pull them shallow quite yet. Maybe drag a tube along the shoreline at 15 foot of water. Keep it on the bottom and cover as much ground as possible. Also, wouldnt hurt to leave the house later in the morning, wear your bibs, and keep your hands out of the water the best you can. You are going to freeze your tail off. But I hope you find some fish. Quote
