Super User whitwolf Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 If you haven't heard enough to sell you, just buy a small order to try them. They will sell themselves and you will be back for more....guaranteed!! My thoughts exactly. To add my thoughts; If you want to learn about jigs simply ask Mike anything about them and you will get an education that, to me, Is priceless. Take what has been discussed onto the water with you and you will be a better jig fisherman. As for price and product it's hard to beat. Throw In the great customer service and that Is the reason(s) I fish Siebert jigs exclusively. As an aside, I can promise you that If you asked Mike for jig advice you'll get all the Information you ask for (and more) even if you don't buy a single jig from the man. Quote
shimmy Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Well the reality is you can always find a company with good hooks, good paint jobs, good ties, and good skirts. However, for those top end jigs, his prices are better, and they look as good as it gets. Furthermore, the biggest selling point for me after the fact that his jigs are cheaper than top end jigs, is the customization of his jigs. Go to his website, and custom pick what you want. Pick a jig, choose if you want a band, wire tied, or rattles with rattle band; then choose what size, then what color, then if you only want the jig head, then hook style, then if you want 5 which is often even discounted more. To me, it is the variety that he provides that allows you not to just get the one size fits all jig, but to customize it the way you want and never have to worry about poor components. Seriously, good luck finding another site that provides this much variety for jigs on a website. Jig fishing is about confidence; using his jigs eliminates all doubts and all you are left to wondering on the water is whether or not the fish feel like biting. You really cannot go wrong, make a small order to see for yourself. Quote
crankcaster100 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I bought a ton of jigs earlier this month and they are beautiful compared to the ones on the shelves And the order turn around time was fast And I don't think bass resource is going to have a sponsor that sells less than good quality items Quote
Super User bigbill Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Posted March 28, 2014 Let's put it this way Mike probably started making jigs for himself. It's his love for the art of making these fine quality jigs that he is willing to share with us. God bless, bigbill Quote
flipin4bass Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I love the hooks Mike uses...Owner hooks...it doesn't get any better. I knew the first time I held one of his jigs in my hand that I'd never use any other brand. Quote
Washout Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 It's your money, I don't feel comfortable telling you how to spend it even when you are asking for help doing such. If you think someone else wants your business more, then by all means use them. I think Mike has earned enough respect on his own to deserve the credit he's getting. Quote
Gigg Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I just got my order about 3 weeks ago and I love them. My home lake has a lot of rocks and I'm always throwing jigs but they chip like crazy. I've tried multiple brands and they always chip on the first outing but Siebert's have held up amazingly even after a few trips so far. I also really like the dredge head with the owner deep throat, awesome hook! Quote

I've never chipped or hung one, and I throw that thing in the nastiest stuff you can find. Quote

Diggy Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Wow, I can not thank everyone enough for all the kind words. We truly appreciate it. Bout to get an order in myself. Id like to spend around 25-30 bucks, random jigs based on your choices for So. Fla grass and rock areas Quote
fishinthedacks Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 All of the above and especially this…. and I know you said customer service doesn't SELL you…. BUT it should. His quality is off the charts and I received a "custom" emailed order in a very short period of time. 100% satisfied NO! I'm HUGE on customer service. It does sell me BIG TIME. I was just saying you don't need to sell my on customer service because I have already ready 100 reviews on how good his customer service is. And he seems like the nicest guy coming and going. I just wanted to know what makes you all keep going back besides the customer service. Again my laptop and phone the color is very washed. All my lures I own look 100x better in person than the pictures so I couldn't judge on the colors from the internet. Quote
fishinthedacks Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 I wanted to post the customer service reply first as anyone who misread that I wanted to just let you know you were reading it wrong. I've been in customer service and sales most of my life and the reason I continue to make bigger commissions selling an inferior product (Just to clear it up I sell an inferior product/Mike doesn't) is my customer service and going the extra mile. So good customer service recognizes it when they see it. I just wanted to feel comfortable that my money this month was going in the right place. Had some issues come up this week with another business I worked with recently and had to go to war so I haven't been online at all this week except to answer private messages on here. I thank you all for your input and the waters are all open now and I could be out jig fishing right now but I didn't even find time this week to get my license (Which I'm doing tomorrow). So I didn't get to click checout on Mikes' Jigs either. This kind of response is truly unreal. Honestly I'd be shocked if you all didn't bring a tear to his eyes as he read this. This kind of backing, customer loyalty and affirmation that you are doing this good of a job doing something you love is just unbelievable. I am sending Mike an email right after this for some advice on jigs. I already know a lot of what I want based on trailers I already have that I want to use. But from the sounds of it if I don't take advantage of picking his brain and adding jigs based on his reccomendations I would be doing myself a huge disservice. Honestly couldn't be more excited about receiving his jigs (and to be honest jigs are something I'm indifferent about) but for the first time ever I'm excited to see this quality first hand. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I've got an order on the way too. We'll have to get together for a Jig Break-In Party. 1 Quote
fishinthedacks Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Had I known that I would have gave you the money for my order maybe saved a couple of dollars on shipping at least. I'm pretty new to jig fishing so I could use all the help I can get.(Especially since you and a hanful of other local fisherman have said that's the best way to fish the Mohawk) My jig fishing experience, I could break my record in time fishing with a jig by one or two days out haha. To be honest I always just did a weedless rig with the trailers you would normally jig fish with and did quite well if it was weighted. So this year I really want to focus on all my weaknesses to see if I could possibly find a method or two that helps me get more fish in the boat. Quote

Sounds good though, I'm getting my license tomorrow and plan to at least get out and test some new equipment/lures/etc out. Is there a place closer than Wal Mart to get our licenses around here? Is there a place closer than Wal Mart to get our licenses around here? I get all my licenses online. They call the site DECALS and can be accessed thru the NYS DEC site. As for local places, I'd check with the Sportsman's Den or maybe the Town Clerk's office. Quote
1234567 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Like some have mentioned there are other quality jig makers out there. Mike's business approach is textbook. He puts out a quality product at a great price and treats all his customers like they are number one. You can NOT beat this approach. I have contacted him on a couple of occasions and he has always come through. I will not buy any other jigs but his for all reasons stated above. Also as Shimmy stated the versatility in how many different ways you can have your jigs built to order is fantastic. Quote
