I'm looking forward to throwing swimbaits this year in my local lake for LMB and SMB.  It is very shallow with a median depth of about 6 feet and a few channels and basins around 10 feet.  Can anyone recommend a smaller swimbait that will run at about 3-4ft with a slow retrieve?  Thank you

Holy cow! RW actually recommend the Swimming Senko....

Super Fluke or Mag Super Fluke would work here I think.

Heck yeah he did.  It's an awesome bait.  Very versatile.  Some of my best days have come from using that bait over the tops of hydrilla or through lilly pads.

You nailed it....skinny dipper and owner swimbait hook.

I love those Owner swimbait hooks. That keeper is the best out there. Thankfully Owner also sells those keepers as a standalone item. I have packs of other swimbait hooks and I've been swapping out the keepers with the owners...

Not exactly a swim bait, but I still do well with Potomac smallies with a rapala broken back.

What size/weight hooks are you putting these on?

I use a 5/0 hook.  Weight varies according to how deep/fast I am trying to fish it...1/4 oz is a good happy medium.

Oh I thought he said "swimbait" not a worm or a tube ;D

I have 2 Mattlures Baby-smallmouths that I'm going to try too.  I just got them but I think they might run a little too deep for most of my lake.

Fish them like a jig.   :-X

You don't always have to swim a swimbait.

the only thing wrong with those worm and tube baits is that there called swimbaits. If they match your aplication(and it sounds like they do) then throw them and catch fish! they are good baits I just have a hard time calling them swimbaits  :)

as for the baby bass, they are kinda inbetween. They arent so heavy that they are bottom bouncers but they sink a little faster then slow sinking shallow running baits. You can keep them shallow with your retreive though.
