Nashua Nev Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 My son and I want to catch some Pike (catch and release). I have heard the CT river near the Nuclear power plant (We do not have VT licenses only NH ). We fished the CT river 1 time but only had a couple hours. Can anyone give me any tips , best times or basic areas to fish for Pike. Also other than the Ct river (staying in NH) , other places? We live in Nashua. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 26, 2014 Super User Posted March 26, 2014 I'm not in NH, but as far as where to fish for them, get around grass and throw baits with a lot of flash. Willow leaf spinnerbaits work really well. They're fairly easy to catch, so if they're around they'll let you know. Quote
DevilDoc Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I Have the NH Fishing guide, and lists some bodies of water that have them. Ill send along the info when I get home. Quote
DevilDoc Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 My Clark's says CT River, Spofford Lake, and possibly Monomonac Lake. hope this helps! Quote
llPa1nll Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 NH isnt known for Pike. The chemistry of the water does not match well with them. Maine has some lakes that hold them. Lake Champlain has a great population of Pike if you can get out that way. Quote
Super User webertime Posted April 9, 2014 Super User Posted April 9, 2014 The retreat setback in Brattleboro, on the Ct. Is good for pike. Quote
