RippinLips4 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hey david, My cousin has the new IMX drop shot 6'10 mag medium he said he was fishing 50' and could feel the bite easily, he returned his dobyns champion for it and likes it. He uses braid so that could help. They seem like good rods. Quote
michael68w Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I just bought the new loomis IMX 852s for my tube jigs and grubs and I'm very happy with it. It's my first IMX so I can't compare it to the old but I can compare it to the Bronzeback series and for the extra cash it's worth it. The new finish looks great and mine came with no imperfections, the handle is very comfortable for me but some people may find it small. Over all I'm very pleased with it and haven't found anything I don't like. Quote

Im really thinking about getting the 803, i had an 803 GL2 a long time ago, while it wasn't real sensitive, that was one of my favorite rods to fish with, something about the action of the rod and how it reacted, i just fell in love with it lol, I've been trying to find a rod with that same action since then, still haven't found it. So I'm sure this new GLX 803 will be even better Quote

So I'm sure this new GLX 803 will be even better G. Loomis is awesome I've fished some but never owned any I think there over priced on their lower end models, IMO. But if you have the money and like the action I say go for it. Quote
