I went to purchase flourocarbon line for my pitching setup today. I was on a budget and i was in a hurry. i picked up this Pline CXX 15lb Moss green (found out the color when I got home I wanted clear)( thought it was Flouro). I'm not real sure if I should just keep this or take it back and get Seagaur Red label. I've never used either one but like I said I'm on a budet and I'm really not sure if copolymer is the right line for this? Thanks in advance!

CXX is one of the toughest and meanest lines available, is practically indestructible, the only problem is that has more memory than your PC. I really like the stuff for fishing wood, you should see the satisfaction on my face when I uproot from the bottom of the lake one of those huizache brushes.

My personal favorite is P-Line CX Premium (single-x, not double-xx)

It's an extremely tough copolymer line with a fluorocarbon jacket.

I hate line memory so I'd return it and get the fluoro. red label is good stuff.

the cxx memory isn't as bad as mono but it's close enough to make make my skin craw.

spinning or bc set up? if ur on a budget i'd use braid with a cxx leader (or yes even a mono leader b/c the braid will eliminate the memory issue and correct the sensitivity/stretch issues). all ur rod set up's will become twice as versatile b/c you can simply remove the leader and fish straight braid in heavy cover ('heavy' being relative to the lb braid you have on that particular set up). ie my drop shot rod is 10 lb braid to 6 or 8lb leader but i can remove the leader and fish straight braid if around rocks/weeds; or if i'm shore fishing in chunk rock and want to be able to bend out a light wire hook to get my slider jig back).

braid can be expensive and there's no need to fill ur whole spool with it.  if ur really on a budge use 100 ft of braid w/ 6-8ft mono leader; back fill all ur spools with 10-20lb mono.

over 3 seasons i've experimented with braid to mono, braid to fluoro, and braid to copoly.  in the end i prefer braid to mono or copoly simply b/c their knots are more forgiving.

Yeah I hate the coils too lol I had read that on a couple reviews with CXX. I do the exact same with braid on my spinning to eliminate all of that. I think I will just exchange it and get the Red Label next time I'm out. Thanks!

CXX is great for moving baits, but too much stretch and memory for me with jigs and plastics.

I'm a huge fan of Seagar Red Label. I've always had good luck with it and it's cheap. For pitching I'd honestly bump up to the 20 lb line.

Put me down for the Red Label also!!!

i like the red label, A LOT.  I also have 20lb cxx on my swimbait set up and have to admit the coil is enough to make me want to put the rod down sometimes....  for pitching i'd go with 20lb red label and call it a day.

I have gone through bulk spools of 10 and 12 lb test Red Label. I love the line as it handles really well and casts great. I do replace it frequently and I cannot attest to any other test #'s. I have had bad experiences with P-line and have not tried it in a few years.

I've used both but if I had to pick I'd go with red label. To me it's one of the best performance per dollar fluoro lines. If you had the extra cash I'd point you to INVIZX or Berkeley 100%

I ended up exchanging it for the 20lb Red Label. Killed it at the local pond down the road. Could barely see my line because of the snow coming down so hard. I'd say 40 fish altogether. Seems like its a good line but ill have to put it through more than one day of use to see. Thanks for everyone's help!
