Washout Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Went to Jim Edgar Saturday for the whole day. Not a single bite on any of the lakes. I marked fish in 35' of water holding just off the bottom, but nothing I had made them want to bat an eye. Tried drop shooting a 3" minnow, tried swimming some worms just off the bottom, a z-drop, and even vertically jigged for them. Nothing... Went to a pond on site and caught a 3 pounder, so I didn't go home with nothing. I did get better at "feeling" some crank baits while I was at it. I'd say I ruled out about fifteen to twenty ways of catching fish in ice out conditions. The other highlight was, I was the only one out, so I had my own personal lakes for the day. 1 Quote
Nice_Bass Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Nice to see a few from IL still fishing! my boat is in garage still, however it gave me extra time to install a few new extra toys. Quote
Washout Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 I had big plans on working on mine as well, but if wanted to fish worse than I wanted to turn wrenches! Quote

Washout Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Lack of outdoor activity has almost everyone grumpy. I'm going on a camping trip tomorrow so that should perk things up a bit. And I'm getting my plastic boat out for its maiden outing. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted March 29, 2014 Super User Posted March 29, 2014 i know- my lack of fishing makes me a smart ass!! My wife calls me that all the time, my reply: Its better than being a dumb @$$. --- That was a good one btw. 1 Quote
2putt Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 So far this year I've been too Clinton, Sangchris,Spring lake and Dawson lake. The 2 cooling lakes were running temps in the low 60's and the fishing was pretty good. We caught about 6 bass in each lake. Pretty good size, the biggest was 4lbs 3oz......Spring lake and Dawson on the other hand, were cold. Best temps were 49-50. The fishing was just as cold. One fish from each lake....Very large follow at Spring lake, 45 incher at least. We need about a week of sunshine, get those temps up to high 50's. Quote
