I have been fishing this Phat frog all last summer and it is one of, if not the best frog that I have ever fished.I know everyone has there frog that they like and I know they are good frogs, I am not putting any of them down! The Phat frog has a chamber in it that will not let water in so the frog can't sink! This frog is everything they said it would be. I am a Phat frog man for good!

Have any of you fished the Phat frog and what do you think? And what is your frog color you like the most?

They became my new favorite frog after I tried them last summer. One thing I noticed right away is that the extra weight of the frog seems to prevent it from climbing over lily pads unless the pads are really thick. Instead, the frog tends to move the pad or make it's way around the pad while remaining in the water, which means this frog spends more time in the strike zone than a lighter frog that tends to hop over the pads. I think I had fewer missed strikes because of this.  A Spro Bronzeye that's half filled with water will do the very same thing.

I've always had my best luck with black topwaters, and the Phat Frog is no exception.

LIke the look and the details sound good, but on the web site struggled to find the phat frog in just green.  I also like black.... but I am sick of all these companies making frogs with exotic colored backs...... like the fish can really see them from below?

I have the tournament frog and a few original ones, I might buy the black, but who buys the iced out color?  People have success with a light blue frog?

First started using snag proof bobby perfect frog. Then they switched production and the frogs had alot of issues. Mainly they didn't float anymore and the plastic was a little harder. Had to modify them to get them to work right. Then came the phat frog. Solved all the problems I had with bobbys perfect. Been throwing them every since with great success. The blue color is supposed to represent the blue dragon flies that are always right by the water surface.

Ah, I was wondering about that one too.

That is one large fly haha.

Think I will order a black one today.... and probably an original one (the ones with the original frog legs) in green.....

Mann's used to make a soft plastic that was kinda shaped like a dragon fly..... wonder if someone like snag proof would make one in that blueish color, seems like it could be a winner on a summer evening.
