This will be my first year with a dedicated frog set up. I went with a curado g 6 (wanted the 7) - Abu Garcia rod MH, as far as frogs Ive got around 25 new ones from river 2 sea Larry dhalberg, to ***, strike king kvd sexy frog, snag proofs, booyah etc etc etc

Really going to invest the time to see what works best for me this year.

I have 3 frog rods set up

1) 7'6" abu vendetta H/F: Lews Superduty 7:1, 65lb PP braid.

2) 7'6" BPS graphite series H/F: Quantum Kinetic PT 7:1 50 lb PP

3) 7'6" GSX Tournement MH/F: Quantum Kinetic PT 7:1 50 lb PP

I only frog in heavy cover so the longer stiffer rods work well for my style of froggin

frogs: KVD, Pad Crasher, Spro

1. Heavy pads will get my new DX 746 with a Zillion Type R and 65 PP. This rod will double for punching which i wanted sensitivity for otherwise I wouldn't spend that much on a frog rod.

2. Open water and buzzing frogs go on the DX 704 and a t3 with 40lb. Again, this rod doubles for trigs and jigs so the dx get sensitivity

Most of the time I frog with a 7'mh veritas, gen3 revo stx, and 30lb braid.

If I am in the really thick stuff, I use a 7'6" H vendetta, gen1 revo stx, and 50lb braid.

I also have thrown the smaller jr. size frogs often on a 7'M abu Vendetta with a curado 51e, and 20lb braid.

For frogs, I like the booyah pad crashers, and the SK KVD sexy frogs for hollow body types, and zoom horny toads for the other kind.

:) 7"2 HXF custom with 7:3.1 smoke and my new one is 7'3 MHXF *** with tatula type R 8 gear. Use all frogs but iobee and spro usually are tied on, can wait to try my R2S spitting wa

I left out the second part to the question. When I bank fish I use Booyah pond crasher. When I fish the glades I fish LiveTarget frogs and when they prefer consistent movement I will throw Zoom horny toads.

Same rod and line, and currently I use my Lexa 300.  We'll see how the season pans out, you always need more reels right?

I've got a box full of frogs, but Spro and Live Target get used the most.  Bought a couple of the *** frogs, hopefully they work as good as advertised.

LOL.... the reel has served me well, and it has caught me hundred's of nice bass over the last few seasons, but I saw and palmed the new Curado and I just had to have to it as my frog reel.

When I put a frog rod together, it was almost 4 or 5 years ago, I didnt have much money at the time so i bought:

BPS Carbonlite 7' MH F/ Quantum Code 7:1.1/ Sufix 50lb braid

Crazy thing is, I never changed it, in the thickest and not so thick, i have horsed 4+lb bass with enough salad to feed an italian family with no worrying. It casts frogs so good and is just a perfect setup, dont get me wrong, I would love to have a newer rod and newer and nicer reel, but i have yet to have a reason to replace this setup, it just plain works perfect.

Im throwing koppers/kvds/spros most of the time, have a bunch of others but koppers and kvd is my fav, will be trying the new lunker frog this year so hope it works good!

Revo gen2 Premier, This year it will be a Tatula 7'4" H(frog rod) , 60# samurai and either Spro or Live target frogs.

7'2" Heavy tatula with a 150 smoke high speed and 50lb suffix performance braid .  How some of you guys get away with using a MH/4 powered rod is beyond me, unless there is no vegetation around at all, not even submergent.

I have 2 different set ups, have a 6-6 mh Vendetta with a Quantum Code and 20lb braid for the smaller frogs....IE live target field mouse and frogs.  Then my other set up is a 7" mh Falcon with a Quantum Kenetic and 30lb braid.  Also have a 7'3 Falcon if I need a bit more I can use that has an Accurist on it and 30lb braid that also is my lighter punching/pitching set up.  And I really like the Ish's Phatt Frog and Poppin Phatty. Easy to walk and they don't sink.  And going to be using the Sproz's bronze eye shad as well.  I probably fish lighter braid then most, but I haven't had any issues getting fish out of the weeds on 30lb.  I think anything else is overkill. Just my opinion.

Farmer must blow your mind with his 7' M.  :teeth:

I don't have a dedicated frog rod and only a few frogs.  If the rod has to be a Heavy, then I have a Zillion Flip and Pitch (7'6" HF), a 7' HF Techna AV and two 6' 10" HF Quantums.  I gather from my reading the Quantums would be too short for most frogging.  I have several MH rods that I wouldn't be afraid to throw frogs on.  The 7'6" Villain is a beast of a MH for one option.

How do you like the T3?

I like of better than the tatula because of how I palm a reel. It's smaller and the hood actually makes a great flipping switch. As for pitching and casting, it is awesome. The 3d braking system really helps.
