planebrutal Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I'm wondering it the a basic location were bass should be threw the seasons i do understand that weather can change this but what I'm asking is were should bass be in general depending on water temperature like 40-45 45-50 50-55 55-60 and so on Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 24, 2014 Super User Posted March 24, 2014 In all cases, they are under water. In all seriousness, though, you should check the articles section for seasonal patterns. In general, 40s is winter or ice out, 50s is pre spawn, 60s is spawn, 70s and up is post spawn summer. That is a BIG TIME generalization though. There's quite a bit more to it. 4 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 24, 2014 Super User Posted March 24, 2014 Reading up on seasonal patterns and time on the water are the key. There's no shortcuts. Quote

Super User Sam Posted March 24, 2014 Super User Posted March 24, 2014 Plane, seems you are new to bass fishing so please take what J has written to heart. You need to find bass fishing articles; subscribe to bass fishing magazines; and go to YouTube and subscribe to Bassresource's videos. "Like" Bass Resource on Facebook and read all of their threads. Not only do you need to know the transition habits of bass but how water temperatures affect their digestive systems. In other words, read, read and read some more. Start new file for fishing articles on your computer and a paper file for articles you find interesting to retain. Anyone can run out and start fishing but the most successful individuals know the habits of bass and use that knowledge to their advantage. 1 Quote

Super User Raul Posted May 28, 2014 Super User Posted May 28, 2014 If Bassresource´s library existed back in 1980 when I began fishing for bass it would have saved me at least 10 years of effort in learning. Quote
