Ive never really had confidence in chatterbaits and swim jigs, mainly because I never fish them much. I am going to try them out over the next couple of weeks but I have a question. What types/brands of trailers have worked best for you guys when fishing this lure! Thanks for the help, tight lines!

I make my own in both, haven't bought one for years and couldn't be happier. Pretty much just fish the bladed jigs with a straight retrieve, reeling them as slow as I can while keeping the blade wobbling. Some of my favorite colors;

I use 2/3 of a BPS Stick O for a trailer a lot of the time. The Havoc beat shad and grass pigs are good, so is a fluke or swimming fluke, 4 or 5 inch grubs, 2/3 of a trick worm, 1/2 of a 7" swimming tail worm, pretty much whatever you want to use.

I make the exact same style as Bluebasser86 and I use it with and without a blade and his way of fishing them works, it really isn't a secret. I tell those not experienced using them to think of it as a spinnerbait, it is the same thing only without the wire and blades and the bladed swim jigs is the same deal only it has the added attraction of vibration, flash, and sound. There is really no wrong way to use it but I found that a steady, medium paced retrieve is the best way when using a swim bait type trailer and a little faster when using a fluke type or better to say a medium retrieve with a trailer that has a lot of action and a faster pace with a trailer that has less action.

I've been using the rage tail craws on my chatter baits and I like them a lot!

I used a paddle tail frog as a trailer last week and they smashed it.

You'll need one tied on for Grand the 27th!   :eyebrows:

I like a Havoc Grass pig with about 1" cut off head and use it on both.

Regarding chatterbait i seem to do better if there is a little wind or water is heavy stained.Also running them over top of grass on shallow flats has worked well for me

I don't have much experience with a chatter bait, but I think of swim jigs like a finesse spinnerbait. I'll usually fish it in clearer water or high pressure situations. My trailers of choice are Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper and also a Kalins 5" Lunker Grub.

I like to use zoom super speed craws or havoc grass pigs, depending on what I am imitating. I use the rage tail menace on swim jigs and scrounged heads, though. May have to try em out on the chatterbaits!
