Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to south Florida (Pembroke Pines / Miramar). I'm here for 9 weeks and looking for some good local spots. There's water EVERYWHERE here, something I'm not used to being from southern California. I've managed to catch a few small ones dropshotting a roboworm but the stream I've been fishing at seems to only have little guys. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Google earth will be your friend. Pembroke/Miramar area has tons of areas to fish that are non-residential.

Lou is right, google earth is a great way to find places. If you like fishing at parks where you know you won't be run out by residents you can always look at the county web sites. For example Broward has their own. Here you can find several locations for fishing, they even tell you what kind of fish are at these parks.

I fish Pembroke Pines and Miramar when I go fishing for peacock. I never go there for largemouth. But if your willing to fish for peacock go to Pembroke Falls I believe its on Sheridan. It is residential but I fish the two lakes outside of the gate. Also a little north of Pembroke Pines on Sterling and Flamingo there is a shopping center with a Taco Bell/KFC right next to it is a canal that runs a few hundred yards east then turn up north and right behind the shopping center is a little pond. Fish that with live shiners and if you go early a Rapala Skitter Prop will work for topwater. You can also use a Rapala XRap in perch or gold color. If you google earth it you will see what I'm talking about. BJ's Tackle and Bait shop sells live shiners and minnows and rapala's. Good luck, if you need anymore info PM me.

A few spots for largemouth that are close to the Pines and Miramar area are Tree Top Park. Vista View Park and the Griffin Canal.
