playmaker47 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Hey all, Moving to Wichita in June and am trying to get acquainted with the various bass lakes around and anything fishing related in Wichita. I prefer LMB and am currently a bank fisherman, but will be getting a pontoon kickboat soon, and in the near future a 16-17 ft bass boat. I've heard good things about McPherson State Fishing Lake and Butler State Fishing Lake. Also is anyone familiar with Chisholm Lake in the north part of Wichita? Any help would be wonderful!! Thanks! Mr_Scrogg Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 McPherson SFL, and Butler are great lakes. They have been rated at the top in KS for a while. Size and numbers. 1 Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 Polk Daniels is another that is not outside of traveling distance of Wichita, and usually produces good numbers, sometimes they are not that big but it is a fun little lake to fish. Quote
playmaker47 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks! I appreciate the advice! For McPherson or Butler do the lakes have a lot of wood cover, vegetation, or rocks? What are some common techniques that may be successful at them? Quote
