Blues19 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 How do you all store your rods at home? I was considering making a rod holder from PVC Piping, but have not come up with a design I am comfotable with. Anyone have a homemade rod holder? Quote
masterbass Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I just bought a rod rack from gander mtn. like the ones they use (round). I think I paid $40 for it and I'm very happy with it. It holds like 20 rods w/ reels which works for now. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted March 22, 2014 Super User Posted March 22, 2014 I have most types of racks in service: Round rack and two Berkley 5-rod plastic racks: Home-made rack - holds 9 combos: The "Princess" rack inside the house... : The "rod box" for car transport and also at-home storage: 3 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 2x4 with hooks, hang them vertical. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 I just chuck my rods in an old trash can...... .....and my reels in a cooler. Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 Rod racks with all reels removed from the rods stored inside my house in my man cave. No rods and reels stored in the car due to the extreme weather conditions. Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 Ataris41, all rods are stored standing straight up and not bending or touching the wall. That is a major goal to have when designing and building your own rod rack. Posts pics of what you come up with. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 23, 2014 Global Moderator Posted March 23, 2014 I use coated bicycle hooks hanging from the ceiling into the garage, screwed into the studs in the attic. Each hook will hold about 4 rod and reel combos. Quote

Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 I just chuck my rods in an old trash can...... .....and my reels in a cooler. No offense..ha, But these pictures make me wince. Are those Stradics in that cooler? 4 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 Mine are in my furnace/basement hanging on the wall horizontally held by metal hooks. Hooks are wrapped with felt material to protect from abrasion, plus the rods are in rod gloves. Each set can hold 4-5 rods. My reels are in a cabinet/cubby sitting on top of a towel that is placed on my custom tackle storage system. Quote
Stingray23 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 My stuff stays in my room. My reels are in a dresser draw. Quote
ATX Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I believe my wife would like to see me put my rod and reals in a trash can! Never going to happen though! Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 Are those Stradics in that cooler? It's a mix in there. Couple Sustains, couple Saharas, a few Stradics, a few Chronarch SF's a CI4 and an old green Curado. The rod pic was just a joke. That's my bone pile for repairs. Here's one of the 5 various racks in the basement (this one is actually my Wife's). 2 Quote

Super User S Hovanec Posted March 23, 2014 Super User Posted March 23, 2014 Awesome that your wife has that many rods too! The rods aren't hers...just the rack. She won it last month at the ICRBE. Her rods are on one of the other racks in the background. I'm using it as a build/repair staging area for ones that I'm working on. There are some pretty good sticks on it tho. 5 SCV's, 2 SCIII's, a SCIV, CTS, Sage One, RX8, couple RX7's, a Seeker and a Hi-Mod MHX.....and a few repairs in the back row. Quote
RippinLips4 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I have several different racks that I use. This is the one I like the best. I use it in the store and at home. Ron Where can i buy this? Quote

dam0007 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I'm in same boat. My basement ceiling is just under 7 so I can't do anything I like to stand em up. Quote
