Is a Transducer arm a necessity for a Lowrance fish finder on a kayak? I'm not sure if i need to by one or now for my setup. Here is the link to the transducer arm I'm thinking about buying. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

A transducer arm is not necessary for traditional FFs and to some extent, the DSI models as well.  Any SI or 360 view style FFs though need to have the transducer in the water.  If you are trying to avoid placing the transducer in the water, then the duct deal or silicone sealant method works fine.

I used a fold out arm on one of my older yaks and found it worked well, just fyi, I also used the 4" rail with T bolts  that yakattack markets
