So yesterday was my first time out fishing with one of my new poles(6'9 carbonlite spin).  I took my son with me to a little pond in a neighborhood near my house.  While we didnt catch anything it was still fun to finally be out again.  I am glad though that I purchased more than one rod, because I changed baits quite a bit trying to find what the fish wanted.  It was funny when I changed my son wanted to change so I see a knot lesson ahead for him.

Good job, took my son out for the first time this year a few weeks ago to a local pond. After about 30min of course he was bored, tough fishing, but after a couple hrs I got one on an Ika and he caught one on a wacky rigged senko (he reeled it in) and I missed one other.  That's the best part of the time change, more daylight after they are out of school to take them fishing.  His only problem, he wants to catch A LOT.  Couple more months and those bluegill better watch out.

I remember taking my 4 boys out fishing, when they were all wee lads. Youngest is now 10.

Those days were fun, and frustrating all at the same time. But full of memories! I wish they all loved to fish still, but alas, they grow older and interests wander. They still have an interest to go out with me from time to time. I try to get each of them out during the spawn every year....
