Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 22, 2014 Super User Posted March 22, 2014 Told y'all. "Poke poke poke." Its all good though. My internet muscles are as big as my real life ones. Now I feel the need to flex my Low Orbit Ion Cannon. Now where did I put my virtual mirror? I like to admire myself when flexing. You do know what happened to Narcissus?...............hehehe 2 Quote
Brian Needham Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I cant get involved unless there is a weapon being used. too many times this kind of deal is staged in an alley and you are the only left, bloody, crying and no money. I will call 911, and yell from a distance "hey fella, stop that, whats going on here." but I wont get close enough to touch them, or them me. if weapons are being used, then its going to escalate into something I really dont want , but I cant sleep knowing I did nothing at that point. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted March 22, 2014 Super User Posted March 22, 2014 I'm not sure unless I knew her good as a friend. My wife's girlfriend I would drop him like yesterday's lunch if I seen someone hitting her. She's like a sister to me, like family. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 22, 2014 Super User Posted March 22, 2014 If were going to be honest here..............if it was two adult strangers. I am calling the cops first, then I would attempt to get the dude to stop by yelling/shouting/etc....... You never know what the heck is going on, and it's best not to risk your own well being. Quote
scrutch Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Twenty years ago when I used to party and was much more fit and full of testosterone, a buddy (6'8" 315) and I (6'2" 205) came out of a bar and heard screaming down the street to our right. We looked to see a dude gripping his girl by the hair on top of her head and punching the snot out of her. Instantly we were both in a full sprint after this P.O.S. As we arrived I see his head turn towards us and his eyes get as big as saucers as he discovers his situation. My buddy open hand slapped the dude (he was about my size) and knocked him backwards over a large concrete planter that he was standing beside. That pretty much ended his night. His girlfriend was instantly afraid for their safety and started screaming at us to stop. She didn't know how far we were going with this butt whooping. She helped him up and they took off across the street when he turned around and started woofing at us like some kind of superhero. Again we both said nothing and began our sprint towards him (at this point I was feeling a little left out and wanted my turn dishing out some street justice). He turned and ran away. We laughed and returned to our bar hopping. I can't stand by and watch a guy beat on a girl. I don't care what the circumstance, I get involved. My son has quite a few butt whoopins' for hitting his little sister. No doubt, he has learned that lesson, loud and clear. Zero tolerance. Chances are good that some woman, at some time in your life, will make you feel like knocking the heck out of her. Hitting her is cowardice in its purest form. 2 Quote
gripnrip Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I wouldn't get involved. I'd call 911 and wait on the cops. As far as never hitting a girl or woman. I never have had to hit a lady but I have threatened. When working security for concerts or clubs it can be warranted. I would always say if you put yourself in the place of a man, then expect to be treated as one. I also told them if I have to put the cuffs on you, you are going to jail. End of story. I was thankful I never had to result to that kind of behavior. But to make a blanket statement like "She deserved it." is ludicrous! Quote
BassAddict1911 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Might have had a good reason to hit her In my humble opinion, there is never - I repeat, NEVER - a "good reason to hit her." That's just a messed up way to think, and be careful my friend ... next time you think you have a "good reason to hit her" there might just be another Mr. Short Fish with the honor to jump in to save the girl, and tear your stupid ass up! I mean, Seriously?!? 1 Quote
Stlbob Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Yeah till the day my daddy died he would have beat me down if ever heard id ' roughed up ' a women..Let me tell ya' something my pops looked like flippin Dick the Bruiser for all the older gents here that watch wrastlin' in its hey day..He was a lifetime Mason and he wore a sz 17 ring had to have it made special.d**n hands look like baseball mitts. So whenever he showed me the backside of it after the stars went away i paid attention. Even now as i sit here in agony from my shoulder and neck,if i heard someone screaming id slip on my jeans and go out and see whats going on. Not because im cruisin for a fight but because no matter how quick the cops get here sometimes things need to be dealt with before then.I always look at it like this if it was your mom.sister,grandpa,etc.AND they were in trouble you would appreciate someone checking it out....It most times is nothing but sometimes it is.Like when i stopped a 77yr old lady from getting raped behind my garage before we moved here.wasnt the nicest area. Dont really want to go into that here. But her whole family hunted me down and shooke my hand. hopefully trying to do the right thing doesnt kill me one day. 2 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 24, 2014 Super User Posted March 24, 2014 I'm kind of wondering what kind places people are going to and what kind of degenerates are there? I cruised the bars in the Detroit area 3-4 times a week for a solid 20 years, never once saw any kind of altercation. Once I got married I had an obligation to my wife and kids, stay healthy and make sure I don't get into trouble. I would never be Dirty Harry and pull out a gun, unless I was going to use it which I never would. If I did only 2 things can happen, I walk away scott free or I could wind up in trouble myself. If I'm in trouble that puts my family at risk, either financially with attorney fees or taking a 5-10 year vacation. I feel sorry for any woman or man but I'm not getting involved, selfish you bet, I'm calling the police. 1 Quote
Stlbob Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 i respect that. i just cant do it..i would never be able to live with myself.the shame would eat me alive. like the saying goes...evil wins when good men stand idly by.. 1 Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted March 25, 2014 Super User Posted March 25, 2014 I will not get involved. Made that mistake once. Never again. It's a long story, which does not need to be told. Quote
scrutch Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Right there with ya StlBob. I respect others' decision to not get involved, but I'm just not put together that way either. I'm in, and I hope YOU are nearby when I do step in! Quote
Stlbob Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 its a very personal decision to make.....i have been involved in a few in my life..never even involved me,just saw those who couldnt defend themselves being attack by animals.people who search for weak prey.... when you are taught as long as i was your taught your not just learning this for yourself. You become this to always be ready to reach out and give the weak a hand up,to stop senseless violence on those that cannot defend themselves. The weak, the old,the very young,women...... 1 Quote
